Ok so I went to do the Kotex deal and I bought different variety of pads. Well, apparently only the overnights work. Well, I was having them all rung up in different transactions to get the q's. And, I had said to the gal ringing me up "I wonder why its not printing the q.?" She told me "Just because you buy something doesn't mean you always get that slip." I told her I realized this but I don't think I want to buy the rest of them. She said "Well, you brought them up here so you obviously wanted them." I said "Yes but I also want to get the q to stretch my $1 further" She said the register doesn't print if you use q's. (yes that stupid story again!) Anyway, after I told her this she keeps ringing them up and had set money on the counter and she was just putting the change back down and then doing next transaction taking money etc. I should have at that point told her I didn't want them took my money and left. But, I thought no I'll exchange them later to not cause problems. Wrong thing to do. She told manager that I was upset with her because the machine didn't print the q's I wanted. I wasn't upset! I simply stated that. So, I go into exchange them and the gal at the front calls him and says "She's back and now she wants to exchange those pads" she was whispering as if I couldn't hear her. So, go to cosmetics and he comes over and hes like "Why were these all rung up on different slips?" so I told him and told him that some were for my sis and some for my mom. He said "I understand that but why did you do them on separate transactions?" So I told him about the q and that I wanted the q so I could get Always with that. He told me "I will exchange them but won't give you the q." I was like what!!! Asked why not, he said I was ripping Walgreens off. We went around a few times, I showed him all q's and that it was completely legit. Then MIL steps in and tries to explain. That didn't work. All this time the gal up front keeps calling over there and must have been asking what he has found. And he would turn away and say "Yeah she's trying to rip us off and we'll talk to Betty (SM) in the morning about it" Yeah go ahead buddy because I'm going to go in and talk to Betty myself tomorrow! I think that I'm going to go in there and explain the q's and why I did different transactions and see what she says. If that doesn't work I'm gonna need the corp. #!! What do you all think? I was being very polite and trying to take the time to explain since this is our only Walgreens I don't want to make enemies but still want to get the deals. Any pointers? Sorry this is so long, tried to keep it short! Oh and the q did print once and I asked if I could have it and he said "no, I told you I would exchange them but I wouldn't give you the q's" UGH!!

I would like to know the same thing!! If I was buying them, returning them and buying again to get another q yes that is wrong. But, I'm not doing anything wrong (never have).

I really get irritated when cashiers act like the savings I am getting is coming out of their pocket!!!!! I would probably call corporate about it and see what they say. For some reason these people get mad at us for finding the deals that they put out there!!!!! i know its not every cashier but I have ran across some like this too and its frustrating when what I am doing is legitimate. I have said this before but its not a coincidence that things are on sale and coupons are in the papers at the same time!!! Its the loss leaders that get people in the store and they hope you will buy something extra to make up for their "loss". Most people would buy more, I of course would not!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

Just do the refund and wash your hands of itl....They are obviously not in your favor. Then gve W a few weeks break. Maybe by then they will have quit/moved/transferred and you can start fresh. Sorry you had to deal with all that drama... and quit trying to rip those people off! LOL! (just kidding!)

Call Walgreens corporate office and give them the manager and cashier's names if you know them. If you have receipts, certain numbers on there will tell them a lot as well.

Very often, corporate offices can settle these types of situations.

if I understood it correctly, you already noticed it didn't print the RR with the first transaction, right? I'm wondering why you proceeded with similar transactions when it didn't print the first time? if that was the case and it happened to me, I will not do another but ask for the AM and if given the reason that coupons were used that's why RR didn't print blah blah blah. I'll firmly request to void the transaction and since my coupons are still in the cashier's drawer, ask for them and they just give me back in cash or GC whatever I paid for. then, we're quits. they cannot accuse me of trying to make money off of coupons because I got them back and they got their merchandise back. IF, by chance the AM/SM accuses me of fraud and humiliates me in public because I want to void the transaction that didn't print a cat as expected, I will call corporate immediately.

I now have three gals at my local WAGS that see me when I come in and WANT to ring me up over in cosmetics, I know there's something about being rung up there that matters for them, but I like being out of the way since this last trip I did 8 transactions {which I realize is NOTHING compared to some of you here}

I think it's definitely a YMMV thing, but if there's another WAGS semi-close maybe try to find a good checker there?

What does that Q that prints out have to do with him, her or either of there paychecks? Well let me tell you! If you call Corp and tell them what happened the chances are real good that both could go away, at the least be talked to, now there pay check has something to do with that Q. It's from the man. not wags. GGGGRRRR

A cashier told me one time that "it is people like me that keep him from getting a raise" WTH He also said lots more, but that came to mind! Once call is all it took for he and his 'mgr', not, was never seen again!

It is not like they are losing anythin over this. And it is completly legit.

I have gotten into a habit of going in at different times for little things and getting to know the cashiers. That way when I walk in they are happy to see you and don't pay any attention to the transaction itself and under most circumstances the cashiers I've dealt with seem impressed at the overall goal...one has even made notes of what I was doing.

I just had the same thing happen to me yesterday at a new Walgreens that just opened. Mine was on the Kelloggs deal and by golly that manager did not know a thing about Walgreens coupon policy. I was there for almost 3 hours and I was so angry. I only stayed because I am tired of going through this. My coupons did not print and he blamed it on my RR's and I told him they do not have a thing to do with it. I then told him to do the transaction with no coupons and ....no Q's came out so I asked him what his excuse was now and he said that they have no control over the machine and there is nothing he could do about it. Well I showed him the ad that clearly states buy 4 get $5 rr. Still he came up with nothing. Well I was not giving up I made him make a phone call to his boss and he stated the same thing to me so I had to go higher...so I finally was able to get a district Manager and he finally set him straight. He told him why don't you just give it to her on a gift card??? and that is what I ended up getting 3 orders and $15 in a gc. After he rang up my last two orders he just left the receipts on the counter next to the register and walked away (which really set me off) not even a thank you or an apology so I was like WOW this is just to much!!! well here is the kicker I happened to look up and noticed a sign that stated FREE $5 gift card if we fail to hand you your receipt. That was awesome I called him back over and I just pointed to the sign and said sorry one more thing...I think you owe me $10 in gc because you never gave me my receipts!!!! well he just about fell over, and issued me another gc for $10 funny how things work out huh .

I just have to say I love the last part of your story. I was laughing so hard I was afraid I was going to wake someone up in my house since it is almost 1 in morning.

Ya, it was too funny!!! just the look on his face was unbelieveable!!! I bet he will be a whole lot different with me the next time I go there .

A while back I bought the sammy shampoo/conditioner that was suppose to produce a catalina, I called corp, and sent them an email, one of the managers from the store called me back and acted like he had no idea why I didn't get an RR and then stated..well..I have been working for Walgreens for almost 10 years helping set up stores and have never had anything like this happen...really! I stated"you have never had a person buy something and your machine be out of paper or not get a catalina...then he changed his store, said he would CHECK into it and call me back, on my cell phone no less! Corp email gave him MY CELL###. well I haven't heard from him again...who knows..They change their stories, no one knows what is going on from management to cashiers, I don't think that they know how to run a business...dont' they know they get reimbursted for every coupon?? and an .08 cent for each one!! why be so hard on us if we use them? If you didn't want us in your stores, stop accepting coupons and stop putting out easy savers! Get your wish! I only go to Wag's if I have a coupon for a sale item...period! they do have cheaper milk, but I can always price match at another store....they need us and they need our business, maybe a manager or someone from corp can understand that.

I am so sorry you had a bad trip. I have had a few myself as well. We only have 1 Walgreen's here as well. I have figured out 2 of the managers are really great- 1 is really grumpy and could care less about making things right, and 1 really nice -- but clueless. In your situation I am not sure what I would do, I would try my best to explain myself, so I wasn't thought of as being a fraud. However, I would have it voided out the first time it didn't do it right. That would have been a lot less commotion- or what to another day to return it.
