Was the cashier or I wrong? I went to Publix this morning. I got my $1 off any lil crunchies/yogurt things in the mail (Thank you FSC) The coupon states reedemable at Publix. So, I was going to get: 5 lil crunchies (use five of the lil' crunchie coupons and 4 gerber manu. coupons). 1 gallon milk 2 Huggies cleanteam items (b1g1 coupon) 2 packs of gum 1 bottle of water 11 items for 10 coupons (so there is not an issue there) First the cashier can't get the publix coupons to scan so he asks me if I copied them. I politely tell him no, I don't know how to do that and even if I did I wouldn't because that is illegal. He says well it is kind of smudged here at the top and I said well that is probably because I dropped my envelope on the ground trying to get my daughter out of the car (note: 1 of the 5 was smudged!) So, then he manually enters them and goes to use the gerber coupons and tells me I can't use them because the first set of coupons were manufacturer coupons. I said, no they say reedemable at Publix on the top (and showed him), and I can use a publix and a manufacturer for each item. He said well I can't accept these because the first set was manufacturer coupons. I then asked (still calm) where else would I use those coupons when they say reedemable at Publix? He just stood there silent and handed the gerber coupons back to me. I was in a rush so I didn't go to C/S...which I regret now. But I wanted to ask my fellow AFC'ers am I wrong on this issue or was the cashier. I was offended he asked me if they were copied to begin with and then to deny me another $4 in coupons just rubs me the wrong way. I am not a confrentational person although I am getting better with standing up for my coupons. I have never had a problem with Publix before this and I am tempted to call the store and file a complaint.

I had an irritable cashier at Publix a few weeks ago and I called CS about it later. I was glad I did. The manager was so sympathetic and apologetic. I vaguely described the cashier (didn't want to get her in trouble because I knew she would know it was me who complained) and asked if the manager could hold some kind of brief group cashier meeting and discuss the use of coupons and how customers using coupons should be treated - not as thiefs or 2nd class citizens. I now avoid this cashier and all the other cashiers are wonderful about my coupons. I would call CS if I were you, just so they can do some training.

Did the coupon say manufactures at the top. I know that some of my "store coupons" do say redemable at... but they also say manufacture on them. If anywhere on the coupon it says manufacture even if it says redemale only at Publix then you can not use another man. but if it says Publix store coupon then you would be able to use both...

any Publix store coupon that I have seen is not barcoded (scanable), they have a LU code # that the cashier types in their computer. There is nothing for them to scan, if the coupons have a barcode type just like a manu coupon my bet is that it actually is a manu coupon even though it says redeemable at Publix (so do the Walgreen coupons now). not all Publix stores allow a manu + Store q for the same item. I have been told no on several occasions.
