Today was the first day of the Green Event... I've been waiting for this for a long time! What good deals did you guys find?

I think my best find was a fully lined long black coat with hints of sparkle in it for only $9.97. That's BEFORE the 15% coupon! All the ladies were swarming over these... They were really cute and for that price, they went flying off the racks.

I also got a very pretty black velour topper jacket (Looks like a dressy item for the holidays) for only $9.97 as well. And a zip-up black leather jacket for $39.97 (Tagged retail for $200... As if!). Also got a pair of faded black jeans for $8.97.

I saw ballet flats (The cheaper kind over by the accessories department) for only $3.97. They're really cute to wear during spring or fall, but I have too many of these types of shoes. They also had belts for $1.97.

I'll probably hit a couple of other Penney's in the next couple of days. I don't know if you guys experience this, but clearance prices really vary from store to store in my area (As well as selection). I once saw a shirt at one store for 5 bucks, and at a different store the same shirt was $30. What I do in these instances is re-buy the item and then return it with the receipt listing the higher price.

Do you happen to know how long this will go on? Im going shopping on Monday, but Im sure it wont be on that long.

The Green Event is the final markdown of their clearance merchandise, so it lasts as long as it takes to sell. The good stuff tends to go very quickly, so it's to your advantage to get there as soon as possible!

I bought 2 short sleeve tops (one was $3.97. & another $6.97),2- 3/4 sleeve tops (both were $9.97),2 pairs of ankle length socks (both at $1.47), 1 pair of trouser socks $1.97) & a pair of Mary Jane slippers(for my sister at $1.97) total for all of this was $36.00.

Not a lot of great deals but I went so late in the day.

I got this amazing lace chemise for around $6, original price around $45. That was my best find. I rarely find anything that fits me. Even the cashiers were surprised and they went hunting. Right in time for V-day. DH is going to love

I went today and got:
3 of the Excit USA for $4.67 each, got two pair of St Johns Bay jeans for $14.07 each and a long black Worthington tunic that was marked $6.97 but I got charged $11.73 so I am going to have to go back and have that corrected. Anyway, not too bad, needed some new clothes.

And I saw that $200.00 leather jacket marked down, didn't look right on me though, I did try it on.

And I LOVE cuddle duds but my store doesn't carry them they have to be ordered. Great for riding motorcycles and 4 wheelers in the cold.

I have a feeling that all the left over clearance will be marked down one last time. I have seen them do this before and I might stop in on Wed. to check it out.

I couldn't believe all the coats that they had left over at the Woodfield Mall store in Schaumburg, IL. Wonder if they have done their inventory yet. Anyone know?

Do you know how much further they usually reduce their prices? Do they just reticket the merchandise or do they take a percentage off? Just curious! Thanks for any info you can provide.

I'm not really sure if they do or not. I have a friend that works as a Manager at our Penny's and she usually tells me, but I haven't been able to get there between the cold weather and sick kids, I am dying to find out.

Last year I purchased a sweater at the green tag, then I had to return it because it was too small and found a bigger size at $3 off of what I paid for it at the green tag sale, so I have hopes that if they have a lot of stuff left it will go down one more time.

I ran in this afternoon and everything left has been remarked down. I did find 2 pairs of jeans for $4.97 then I got 15% off. A pair of dress pants for only $3.22 and a long sleeved t-shirt for $2.54!

Not bad but if I had more time I would have gone to a bigger store in a more affluent area. They usually have more merchandise left over because rich people rarely buy clearance as I have discovered.
