We just got back from Home Depot where my husband bought two 10 foot sticks of 3/4 inch pipe. It was $10.38 there and his comp price at a local store was $5.00. He saved $10.76!!!! And no one questioned his comping!!!!! GREAT!!. One of his friends said "I can't believe you just got that for .$50 a foot!!!!" See, even men can be impressed when it's something THEY want!

I always forget that Home Depot comps.

Man I wish I had known that today, I just left there and headed over to WalMart because they had fertilizer on sale. I could have saved myself the trip into WalMart...I will have to remember that for next time.

My husband will actually use a coupon now. He used to whine and cry like a little baby when I asked hiom too, but I finally have him whipped into shape. Of course, he will only use a couple at a time, but atleast he is putting out some effort He has also finally leanred not to ever throw a way an empty package without clearing it iwth me first

DH was (and to some degree, still is) true to the male image of "coupons, not ME!!!" However, he is beginning to see the light. Of course, he still thinks I am going to be locked up one of these days for taking the stores to the cleaners. Really, I am not THAT good at couponing. Some days I do well and it is because of you folks on AFC.

How-some-ever, recently we bought a large area rug and I managed to get a 10% off coupon that helped on the rug and the under pad. So when he went back to get the entry way rug, he took a 10% coupon that came in the mail. After selecting the rug, he took it to check out. It wouldn't scan (the rug upc). It wouldn't go in with the numbers. Management was called. They told the cashier what to do. As she was trying to get it to work, DH whipped out his 10% coupon. She said keep it, I think I can do better than that. So in the end - the $168 rug rang up at $50. DH was SO PROUD of his trip. Said, "You're not the only one who can get deals."

So there is hope for them. I know we have some men on AFC who are really good at shopping with their coupons and probably put a lot of us ladies to shame. However, some of the old die-hards are beginning to come around.
