At the store I visited, I checked at the Customer Service Desk to see where I could find the free lightbulbs. I was told that it was for customers only, and that if I showed her a receipt, she would give me one. So, I went over to the lighting department, and picked up a pack, went over to the self scan, and there was a lady standing there as you exit the registers, handing them out. She saw that I was buying the same bulbs, and said that I should take the free one first, and use the coupon that was on the box. I had to write my name and zip code down on a list to get the bulb.

So, in this scenario, I don't think that sending kids in would work. Unless they are old enough to make purchases on their own maybe. Plus, if you're just thinking about going out now, I doubt there's any free ones left. The store I went to only got 3 cases in, so they were pretty limited.

Thanks for the heads up, my store did say they still had some. But I don't need anything else out and about right now. I think I'll save GAS and stay home!

Exactly! Their one million bulbs is supposed to create an effect equal to taking 70,000 cars off the American Highways, but I bet a few MORE went out just for today to get the bulbs! Buuut, I did this to celebrate Earth Day, and I did buy more bulbs, which is going to save energy and my money in the long run! Now, if I just went out for the freebie, THAT would have been a different story!

I got one, and I asked if my son could get one too. He's 12, and they gave him one. We didn't have to buy anything, or give any information. I was already in the area, so it was worth it.

They don't put off very good light. It reminds me of a light off a vending machine in a dark Hallway.
