No, if they won't scan they are not supposed to take them.

You know if all stores would get their Q's policies straight and let EVERY employee know them it would make life so much easier. Now mind you I love it when they take more than they say but if a rule is a rule I will abide by it.
To me all this is like kids. Give them rules and standards and they will abide, I just hate that one day I can use this or that Q and the next I can't. I don't want to do anything wrong so just give it to me straight and stick by it each and every day.
There has just been so much Q madness that it makes me and I know so many others feel like we are doing someting wrong. I just want the best deal I can get for my family and if it comes with defind rules so be it. Ok I'm done ranting now. I had more but I will spare you of it. LOL

All the coupons that I have printed from here never scan, so I guess HT wouldn't take any from me.

I hope I am not jinxing myself here, but the HT I go to accepts all the IP's I use AND they double them every time! I checked my receipt again just to make sure but every IP coupon has been doubled. I hope it continues because I LOVE HT!

What do you mean the ones that you 'have printed from here'? You mean afc? I thought we didn't have any manufacturer's coupons on afc, that you have to go directly to the manufacturer's website or coupons.com or something... Those should scan w/ no problem as long as there's not something funny going on w/ your printer...

I've never had any trouble with the coupons that I print out from links on this site.

I wonder how they will enforce this policy because as far as I know the scanner can't differentiate between printed and insert coupons. The bar code is what counts and if the insert Qs double why woulnd't the IPs do that too? So the only way is to enter them manually. My cashiers however, don't bother and just scan them like the other ones.

When you say "from this site" what do you mean? AFC doesn't have any actual manufacturer's coupons on this site, only store ones from Target and Food Lion. Do you mean the ones you link to from here? Either way, we have GREAT techies here, I would submit your problem to the Ask a Techie thread, and I bet they will be able to help you out.

In order for them to enforce the policy the cashier has to do something more than just scan the coupon. I don't know if there's just a button they have to hit or if they have to enter the entire coupon manually, but you're right if they just scan it there's no way for the register to know that it's an IP. The cashiers are *supposed* to do 'whatever' it is to keep the IP's from doubling/tripling, but like you said a lot of cashiers do not take the time to actually do whatever it is like they are supposed to.
