On Sunday I used some baby food coupons successfully at Ralphs on some baby food jars that were in the markdown/clearance baskets.
Tonight at Stater Bros. There was nine boxes of Fiber One cereals. Each box had a peelie that said that if you buy three Fiber One items, you get one box of Fiber One granola bars for free (up to $4.00). So I bought the nine boxes and got three boxes of granola bars. However, when the cashier was ringing them up he wouldn't give me the granola bars for free because the cereal was on clearance.

Is this up to the discretion of the store, or what? UGH. I was really frustrated that my thriftyness was being thwarted. It's not as if they were OUT at all!

If only cashiers would understand that coupons actually MAKE the store money.
So... should I call and complain?

PS... I did get the boxes of cereal for .79 each, so I don't have much to complain about. Also each box has a Save $1.50 on Fiber One Yogurt coupon on the back. So I still came out pretty good.
