I can't tell you how many times I have typed a reply, read it, re-read it, then decided not to post it. If there is any chance of upsetting someone or being misinterpreted, I don't bother posting. We are a great community here at AFC, but we are still strangers to one another. I don't know you all personally, therefore I have no idea what your backgrounds are. If a comment is made blasting cashiers, police officers, teachers, (ones I've seen in recent posts), etc it could affect someone on this board because THEY are in one of those professions or their loved ones are. The same goes for religions, races, ethnicities and so on. Please be mindful of the fact that someone is reading what you write, probably a lot of someones.

I cannot agree with you more. Sometimes, life gets really crazy, especially in a crowded city like Miami. We all need to take a step back and look at ourselves the way others do. Is this the message that you want to send about yourself? What does what you say, written or otherwise, tell about you? And, the most humbling step of all, imagine what it would be like to be on the recieving end of being blasted by someone you did not even know. Let's all be a little kinder, even when we get frustrated. Good feelings are definately contagious

I agree also, be nice, I know I had a post deleted just a day or two ago, I never meant to offend anyone, I just thought people would get a laugh out of it. I am sorry for the wrong judgement of my posting, and will think twice before sending jokes. As far as the cashier thing goes, I worked a register at McDonalds, and I know how the public can be. The cashier that you think is a "nasty person" may really be the nicest, she/he is just having a bad day or has just delt with a VERY difficult customer.

Thank you, thank you, thank you...the only thing that worries me is that not everyone that needs to read this will read it...I love my cashiers and know that I can get great deals and free/cheap stuff as long as I play by the rules and abide the store's policies..even when I don't agree with a policy, I can respect it, and know that the cashier is just doing her job..Also, I would love to see a thread about not posting the same stuff over and over again..i.e. the same fifteen hundred threads about RR and the policies regarding redeeming same..enough already..I really think it is YMMV thing and stopped visiting the WAGS thread because I found myself posting the same response over and over..sorry off topic..but I agree, I love AFC and love that we are all friendly and out to save our families money!!

I was a cashier when my children were small and I had to make ends meet I worked at Mc Donalds the breakfast shift and we know how we get when we have to wait longer than 30 sec for something (and I say we because I have been guilty of it as well) but during that time in my life times were really bad trying to raise 4 kids on my own but I always smiled at the customers said good morning thanked them for coming and asking them to come again no matter what verbal abuse I got from them I always smiled. one day this gentleman came to my line and said to me( I just want to thank you very much my dad was in town and we came here for 2wks and every morning you would smile at my dad and say pleasant things to him no matter how mean my he was to you
and my father left town last night but he wanted me to stop by and say thank you and give you this package I tried to refuse and thanked anyway but the man explained to me that his mother had passed away 2wks ago and he had his dad come and stay awhile with him
and that I looked so much like his mother when she was young and his father was angry with his mother for leaving him all along and when he saw me he would say the things he wanted to say to her and I never lashed out and I had such compasion in my eyes when I would reply to the nasty things he would say.
I shared this with you guys to say you never know what people are going through and you don't know what stage of life they're in so it's always nice to be nice and be a blessing to someone even if is only a kind word kindness will always be remembered if you are the cashier or the customer :flow er:

Thanks for the wonderful board, all the great moderators, all the great posters and this friendly reminder. AFC is such a great board it would be sad to have people come here for uplifting, help, bargain and money saving help and leave angry or hurt.

YAY!! I played nice!! I almost lost it earlier but then I decided to just not respond! And trust me....it was hard cause that is just not me.

You know I think some of the people just get carried away and don't mean anything bad or harmful with what they are saying, I'am sure they don't, because this is one happy, helpful, courteous group of people on here...and I love you all...thanks for all of your help too...
