the senseo coffee machine, any good?

Is the Senseo machine worth the $15 to get???? Honestly, we are only occasionaly drinkers of coffee and mostly just when we have over night company. Is it good with hot chocolate?

I got one through my sister-in-law. We used it a lot for a few days, but I ended up passing it on to my other sister-in-law. Both my husband and I drink coffee every morning and by the time I stood there and pushed the button and waited, I could have brewed an entire pot with a regular coffee maker. Just set it and walk away. We also drink big cups of coffee and you have to run it twice to fill it up.

That being said, I think it would be great for people who only drink coffee occasionally, as you can brew as little as you want without a big pot going to waste. My in-laws have one at their lake house and it is really useful that people can brew their own coffee as they get up in the morning and not have to drink coffee that has been sitting for a couple of hourse

I got it for the $15 thanks to Faith pointing me in the right direction a few months back. I actually was going to give it to my father but the DH said to keep it for our tea (we are huge tea drinkers)... needless to say, it has not been opened yet! I have sooo much stuff still in pkgs because he wants to wait until we get our house to open stuff... its so annoying! But, on another note, I have heard it is really good. Plus, for $15, you can;t go wrong. You can always resell it on eBay!

"Honestly, we are only occasionaly drinkers of coffee and mostly just when we have over night company.

It would be perfect for that. Like MommySusan said, it takes a few minutes, so if you drink a lot of coffee - you might get impatient.

Is it good with hot chocolate?

You use "pods" - I'm not sure if they have hot chocolate ones. They do have tea pods that can be used in it, though.

PS: I got one last year, used it a few times - but I like BIG cups of coffee and it wasn't worth my time. I sold it on eBay for about $50.

I got mine back before they started the $15.00 S/H. I use it all the time when I'm the only at one home..... Yes you can do the HOT CHOCOLATE with these babies, just run the water through it (without using a pod) work's wonder's, and the hot chocolate is NEVER to hot or cold.

You can use other brand's pods in the Senseo. Of course, they don't tell you that. I think the Folgers pods work in them. Any of the round, "flat" pods should work.

You are correct!!!!!!
I use the Folgers and Maxwell along with the Senseo, I have found them all to be pretty cheap at WalMart. And the COUPONS help reduce the price!!!!!!!!

Here is a link that you may find helpfull

I like the flavor of the coffee a lot, but the only thing that gets me is how small the cup of coffee is! Maybe I'm just a coffee pig but I like a huge cup in the morning!!!

DH and I really like ours! He usually grabs a cup to take to work and I usually only have one on a Saturday or Sunday morning. It works perfect for us.
We have kept our large coffee pot/espresso maker for when company comes. It is just too slow and a waste of pods to make several cups at once.
