Price Match!

Does everyone know that CVS will do price matches? I took an ad in last week from Rite-Aide for the Crest WhiteStrips, they (rite-aide) had them advertised @ $17.99. So, Cvs matched it @ $17.99, I used the $3 Manuf. and then got $10 back in ECB. So, watch those ads kids...especially if you are looking for something in particular like I was with the Whitestrips. Great deals!

I wondered if they would. Last week WalGreens had Blue Emu cream for $9.99 and it is usually $16.99. I wondered if the CVS across the street would price match. I wouldn't get ECB back because they weren't featuring it, but I could use ECB I had to pay. Anyway, I didn't push it. But it would be good to know what the actual policy is.

Let's hear it from you folks....

I don't know the policy per se, however I was told by a CVS employee that they did and when she was there shopping for herself...she had them to price match the Glade Scented Oil candles that were BOGO at Walgreens a few weeks back and they did...then she used her BOGO Q and got them for free....they just need the ad....the whole page though......with dates (for proof of sale)

I wish I'd known that yesterday I would've gotten the toothpaste that's in my Rite Aid flyer for 99cents.
I'll try it later this week.

Great. thanks for the information. I wonder if they'd price match with anyone around, or just with other drug stores?

I don't know if that's the official policy or not especially if CVS is offerring an ECB. ECB's are essentially a private sale price or their way of passing along manufacturers' promotions. Other stores may simply lower the price for everyone. Approx 45% of ECB's do not get redeemed so CVS keeps the promo'd dollars when people let them expire. Look at it like a price after rebate. Most stores won't price match the after rebate price but rather the actual sale price. This is why Walmart will price match as long as a savings/club card is not required.

Might work at some CVS stores with some clerks but a prudent businessman would not follow that policy. But if they do it as a customer service the good for you. And don't get me wrong, I'll pounce on anything if there's a chance for a deal but this may be pushing it.

I would simply rather give the sale to CVS if they would price match. Of course, I wouldn't want them to lose money, but that is the name of the game in price matching. It costs to drive the customer to your store sometimes. Don't know how they would handle writing off the "expense" of a price match.

It's not our policy to price match, but some managers will do so just to increase customer satisfaction. Especially if you're a well known/ frequent customer.

We don't at my store.
