Talking Is there coupons for school supplies?

I only started couponing in Jan. I cant tell you how much $ I wasted pre-coupon shopping!!!!! So I am not sure about the answer. But like it or not school is around the corner. Is there such a thing as coupons for school supplies? Surely many of the "OL PROS" knows!!!! Many thanks for your response.

Most stores lower the school supplies down really cheap and hike the price of clothes to make up for it.I would worry less about the school supplies and more about finding good sales on clothes because that's where they are gonna stick it to you.
Boodle.com did have some coupons for mechanical pencils and white out. But If you're like me those 2 things will not be on the school supply list.

I wish they would do another Colorific/$10 Walmart Card again!! My God!! That was a killer deal!! I ended up with over 800 packs of crayons and $400 in Walmart Gift cards!!!

anyone remember that deal? You bought 20 Colorific crayons (didn't have to be at Walmart either), sent in the upc's from the crayons and they sent you a $10 gift card to Walmart (which you can use as a gas card too).

those were the days!

Lets just mention the basics for now and get back to the topic..

The basic routine is this - each week staples, office max, office depot, target, and wal mart will run ads.

Every week each of the stores will have about 4 items on sale for a few cents with a limit of 2 or 4 of each.

The goal here is to buy the items a few days before Sunday, then PM to the other stores to get your 110%. Since the items generally range from 10-20 cents each, and the original prices are 3-4 dollars each, the 110% more then covers the cost of the items. To get the overage, buffer the sale with stamps or gift cards.

That is the very basic routine, and I will post the deals in the other thread for the first couple of weeks until you get into it and can figure it out on your own..

Best advice I can give about school supplies: buy extra in July & August -- esp crayons if that is on your list.

I have notices the last couple years (at the schools where I work), that crayons, pencils, paper tends to run low come Feb and the teacher will send ANOTHER supply list home. Who wants to pay 3.69 for crayons when they are 0.20 at Walmart right now???

Another note about school supplies (I used to teach), the name brand stuff really is better in some cases than the generic or cheapo brands...esp. crayons & pencils.

Keep your receipts for tax deductions with you can itemize. I deducted 2 pairs of shoes for my son since he needs them for PE class.

WOW. Talk about a resurrected post! LOL! Good info though. Reminds me to keep a look out for this stuff, since summer is almost here. How 'bout someone bring it back to life once the good sales start?

be on the spy for notebooks with coupons on the front page--for things like Papermate, Crayola, Bic, etc. there are no expiration dates on the coupons and often times, stores will make shoot copies of the coupons to give to customers.
