note Coupon Fraud??? Don't Do It!!!!

Tonight I was at both the Riverdale Cub and the Northdale Cub in CR, MN and both stores had boards up by the register area that had four coupons marked "Fraud Do Not Accept". The first two were variations of the Walgreens Register Rewards, the third was the Free Scotch Brite Toilet Bowl Cleaner (expired 5/15/08), and the final one was the Land O' Frost Free coupon that everyone was talking about a few weeks back.

If you are trying to use any of these coupons...please don't! It really makes it hard on us honest couponers that use valid printables that aren't expired. Before we know the printables will be banned at these stores too....and that would really tick me off.

The Land O'Frost is a perfectly acceptable coupon. It came straight from the Land O'Frost website, so there's no reason NOT to use it.

I have been using both at my Cub's. I haven't had any problems. These were both coupons that were confirmed legit. I haven't heard anything about this.

I agree with Faith about the LOF....I got mine directly from the manuf. website. I've used it a few times at Food Lion and will continue to do so until it expires!

I don't have any of the LOF coupons so I didn't know if it was legit or not. All I know is that it is posted on the board as being a fraud...so the mani must not be honoring it. I have heard rumors (from an assistant manager and a cashier) that Cub in CR is going to go the same way as Rainbow and limit the IP to $1.00 and no Free's because of all the fraud. That would truely suck!

I would contact LOF and ask them about the coupon.

There is a website in our forums under "Let's talk about coupons...." thread that lists all CONFIRMED fraudulent coupons. You can check to see if any of the above mentioned is listed. This list is managed by the industry, so it's fairly accurate.

At the SWM in Durant, OK they said it was a scan, I had been using it for 2 weeks, off and on, then one of the managers said it just looked fishy and he wishes they didn't take any printable, it is up to the store to honor the printable policy, so far, with my search seems to be confirmed legit....I will just go to a different store to use it, I don't want to rock any boats but then again if it were not a good coupon, it would be on a list here somewhere. its been out for weeks.

I have used all of those coupons at the CR store. In fact the manager or supervisor okayed them. I even got okayed to use the Wags RR coupons.

The LOF is a real coupon as is the Scotch Brite Toilet Bowl Cleaner coupon. I don't quite know where they are getting the info that they are bad coupons.

I was in there tonight and the same board was hanging on the side of the MOD stand by the self checkouts. I was not trying to start trouble by posting this...I was trying to ensure that everyone was aware that these two stores have issues with these coupons and have marked them as frauds. I talked to the manager tonight and asked them about those coupons and he said that they aren't getting reimbursed for them so they are asking that they not be redeemed at their store anymore. I told him that I had used the scotch brite coupon several different times before it expired and that I had gotten it straight from 3M's website. He said that they were getting reimbursed for it up until it expired but not anymore.

I didn't talk to him about the Wags RR...

now see, here is another case of them using the word fraud wrong. if the scotch brite q was a copy or something like that it would be fraud, but if they are not getting payment b/c their employees are not properly trained to look at exp. dates, that is not fraud. that is an internal problem. is it just me or does anyeone else get offened when they call stuff like that fraud? i feel like they are trying to pass the blame for their poor training on to us couponers....
ps. i don't think anyone is blaming you, just saying that your store is misinformed.

I'm confused though Cub Takes expired Coupons.............Isn't it their fault if they don't get reimbursed for Expired coupons, When they allow them?

The Land O'Frost absolutely legitimate. Actually there was 2 of those one was a $1 off the regular lunchmeat. I have used a bunch of these. And put some in the freezer. Also the Free Scotch Brite Toilet Bowl Cleaner (expired 5/15/08) was legit..These coupons actually came from the manufacturer website directly..So I don't know why they would say these were fraudulent..Sorry but the store is wrong on these coupons..You could go to Scotch Brite and this coupon and 2 others came up for you to print..The Land O'Frost was a promotion for The Next Food Network Star and a contest...Will the Vlasic pickle coupon and the Post it coupons be fraudulent too? They came directly from their manufacturers website too...So may be no coupon online is valid in some store's opinion.

I don't particularly like the wording that Cub chose for these coupons. Fraud is a very strong word!! They should have just stated that they are no longer accepting these coupons. 3M probably didn't realize that Cub Foods took expireds and did not expect to still have to reimburse the coupons months after the fact.

I heard that most manufactureres do reimburse Cub for the expired coupons. I can see that
3M wouldn't want to honor these coupons because people can print unpteen amount of coupons, but then again they shouldn't have offered the coupon in that format!

I agree fraud is a strong word. I have used that scotch brite coupon at Cub a number of times. I *am* uncomfortable with the LOF Q, however. Even though I received a link to access it and they carry this product at my Cub, I have not purchased it b/c I read it was given with a contest entry and I did not enter that contest. It is my belief that the 3M product Q was given freely out by the company but that they did not anticipate how many cases people would order from WM or other stores etc and so they took steps to reign in its use. In the case of Cub, where they have a policy of accepting Qs for 90 days past expiration, there is a potential problem for the store to get reimbursed by 3M for those free products since it seems that 3M has changed their stance on how the free Qs are distributed/advertised/propagate, KWIM?
