Please help me to understand... I love the savings that using coupons allows me, however, I'm very cautious because I do not want to be fraudulent. I am familiar with coupon clipping sites, but do not understand how they are legal??? (nor ebay) If you can't resale the coupon, how is it okay to purchase these. I am not trying to be the "coupon police", just trying to understand. If these are legit, I would like to try them.

you are paying for them to Clip the coupon.. not the coupon itself...

yes most are legit.. there are always shady people out there.. but on the homepage of AFC there are a few links to good clipping sites...

Even on ebay the listings state you are paying for their time to find and clip, not for the coupon itself. I have purchased many envelopes that contained free q's!

They are (99% of the time) coupons that you get in your Sunday paper. You are paying for the person's time and effort in clipping and mailing them - not the coupon itself.

I've noticed on the Huggies coupons they now say: Not to Be sold auctioned or otherwise reproduced.
That is the first time I have seen coupons that included Auctions as a No No.

Totally legit ~ you are paying for their time, gas, and envelope!

Example ~ I know where there are inserts and when I am so inclined, I can make the trip. I spend $30-$40 in gas and it takes me 6 hours. I went after the P&G that had the $2 Olay and came home with 29 P&G inserts and stacks and stacks of other inserts from that week and previous weeks. I got the free cat treats in those too. I passed some on and ended up getting $32 in Paypal for my efforts. So that basically meant my gas was paid for but I still spent 6 hours ~ which was fine, I got the $1 Zest, $4 Phenom razor, and loads of other good coupons.

I think where it would become illegal is if you owned a little 7-11 type store and you were getting the coupons and submitting them to companies to get reimbursed for them when you didn't accept them from the customer. I have read of cases where people have done jail time for such things.

The CIC (Coupon Information Center) is big on not "selling" coupons and they were mostly the one responsible for eBay implementing limits on how many coupons you can have and such. And even though they don't like people acquiring more than 1 of a coupon by buying 1 paper ~ they go after the fraudulent eBay sellers that sell the fake frees or a printable that could be had for free. They realize the bidders are hard working families looking to save a little money. So the CIC tries to protect to bidder, even though they really would rather no one bid!
