Where does everyone get their coupon inserts? Do you buy multiple papers, beg, borrow, buy , or trade for them?

I am reluctant to buy too many papers at $1.75 each, especially since my local paper isn't worth reading. But I really wish I had this week. I don't think I've used even 1 from the previous week though.

If you buy coupons (clipping service), what is the going rate? Or does that vary a lot?

Some people get them from neighbors or friends while others get them from local stores that give them to them after sunday instead of throwing them away. I have a few from this past sunday so if there are any particular coupons that you want, maybe we can work out a trade. LMK

What i found to be the best is to have a local convenience store give you the leftovers on monday mornings. I usually get 1-5 papers a week.

so what do you guys tell them when you ask the stores if you can have the leftovers instead of throwing them away?? Do you have to talk to a manager??

I get some from friends~~and then monday morning my local CVS stores always have the sunday papers still out so I pick up as many as I can at $.99 each. This past week was difficult because I couldn't find many on Monday! You can tell when there are good inserts~~~

The only time I have bought multiple papers is when they had the 6 inserts. Through subscription my cost is $1 for Sunday. DH told me to subscribe as riving out eevry Sunday to WG to save $.15 was not worth it. I don't go through the Q's fast enough to justify buying more than one apper at that cost. Do some stores just give them to you on Monday instead of tossing them or do you still have to pay?

Yes, they do......sometimes late Sunday nite, and sometimes Mon AM before they are picked up by paper people. Sometimes free, sometimes at a reduced cost and sometimes just the inserts! You can check at convenience store......that's a good place to check and others have mentioned $ Store. Don't know about those. For me it is just easier to buy or trade when you consider the cost of gas and my time. You just have to weight out the +'s and the -'s and what works best for you!

I just started getting them for FREE from the gas station down the road. I live in NY and we recycle. I live very close to the PA border and the gas station is in PA. I asked what they did with the papers on Monday mornings and they told me they "just throw them away!" I almost collapsed on the floor!! I asked if they would be willing to give the papers to me instead of throwing them away and they were very happy! I recycle the parts I don't use and they don't have to pay for all the weight of the papers in their garbage can! I just call on Sunday nights to remind them to keep them for me!

This week I got 50+ papers.. for FREE!!! If you need anything, just PM me and I can see what I have! Some coupons have already been traded!!

co-workers, family they do not q so they bring me theres and i give them stuff they need that i basic get for free.I buy two papers,give one to my friend she reallly nice she lives next door minus the q .

In back of our newspaper office there is a large railroad-car looking container! It has 6 or 8 windows to dump unsold papers in. But what goes in can also come out!

Yesterday I visited 4 containers ~ first 3 were practically empty. I will pick out but I don't dive in! But once I did take my 11 yr old back with me when there were bundles and bundles of a paper that had a hot FREE coupon in it. I don't remember which one it was but I remember getting $.40 each for the coupon! I fished out over 100 and then we went back and got 200 more! But it was $120 in free coupons ~ she got a new pair of Aeropostal sweats for that one!

But yesterday I really only got stuff out of the 4th bin and I got over 30 of 2/10 all 4 inserts, about 10 sets of 2/3 and then 4 or 5 of older ones. But I went to DeeDee's Forms and Things and it was going to cost me over $2.45 for a complete set of papers ~ So I got over $100 worth of inserts. They have the Phenom $4 which makes it free at WG after RR, they have the $2 Olay which are $2 next week at WG and if you buy 4 you get a $4 RR ~ so that is free soap and paying me $1 each to take them home!

I went to an area that gets better inserts ~ like we never get the P&G and they always do. We didn't get Garnier hair and they did. But if your paper gets pretty good coupons you might consider buying a few with ECB's or RR at a drug store ~ just a thought! The coupons can be worth their weight in gold!

I pass by 2 gas stations on ym way tot ake the kids to scholl Monday mornings. I am going to see if they wil save their leftover papers for me. This thread was not mine, but I learned soemthing!

I signed up for home delivery and got $40 grocery store gift card. I go through the paper in the morning and if it has really good coupons I can use, I go to Barnes & Noble and use my member card to get a discount and buy more copies.
