Hi--- I'm relatively new to couponing. I hear many benefitting from the Grocery Game site. I do most of my shopping at Aldi (cheap prices) and Trader Joe's (husband's employee discount). Would it work for me? (I'm in the Chicago area) What have been your experiences with the Grocery Game? Last edited by Kmchamplin; 02-09-2008 at 07:19 PM.

I used to do the Grocery Game. It is GREAT for Jewel (the Jewel boards here aren't terribly active). I quit GG because I got buys and quit couponing avidly (gasp). If you are looking to save time and $, the GG will definitely do that IMHO. If you are looking to save the most (including the membership fee), AFC is best. That being said, I think the GG has (or did have) a free first month membership offer so you can try it out!

It didnt work for me because of the payroll of everyone here.... we did banking on saturdays, the list came out on sundays, and by monday i didnt want to shop because the food lion here was bare because of the sales being sold out... so.... it just didnt work for me. now we shop whenever we have deals or whatever, but when i did the GG a year or so ago it just flopped.

I guess what I don't understand is why pay for something, when you can get everything you need AND more here?? And, you can get the same things here, IMHO!!! ![]()

| I love the Grocery game. I have been doing it for over a year now and it is so WORTH it. They tell you exactly what to buy and how many to buy and where to find the q's, etc.... I wouldn't have half the stuff I have stockpiled without it. I have saved over 74% using the grocery game. I don't think I could have done it just using this site alone. All these sites are great helpers and I really learn about the specifics of deals sometimes before the grocery game but it still is worth me paying $20 every other month for my 3 stores that I get lists for. | I'm loving the gg. I'm in wk 3 and by the end of the day (on my way back to cvs) I'll have enough tissue & ptowels for the rest of the year, I've just started back couponing and stockpiling seriously and using gg has been very helpful with telling what's good to stockpile now and buy if needed. Tomorrows dinner will be from my pantry and freezer, not running to the store for the 1st time since January, thanks to gg.![]() |

I guess I just don't get it, to me, these deals are here, for free, and you just have to take some time to find them. GG is a great service, but if AFC members would all pitch in and post the deals here, you could put the $$ you spend on GG in your pocket. I guess I am just too cheap, my hubby and I work too hard for our money to pay somebody to find deals for us. That's what these free sites are all about..people helping people ![]() We welcome all contributions that help others maximize their savings ![]()

Hi, yes it is worth it. I too am in chicago and work for target. When they see me coming at target they know i have plenty of coupons., example, my bill came to $121.00 and with all my coupons it came to $33.00 and that was before adding my discount people behind me ask how I do it. Here not too far from us we have a store called " food 4 less ", you take Kimball going north into Evanston to Maine St. Turn Right and an immediate right again. about a 15 min drive., not bad. great prices and its a Kroger store as well. And they take expired coupons as far as 6 months back. It is worth it . The money that I save from $121.00 was $100.00 and I have money to shop on again using more coupons and basically the money. Good Luck !!!

What KM & KellyMarie were referring to was that instead of talking about how great the thread for Jewel Grocery was "somewhere else" and how it wasn't that good on here, to jump and start up a thread for "Jewel Grocery HERE!" All members need to give as well as receive! Very simple! HTH......... ![]() |

You will find people who can't live without it and people who don't want to pay for the info. I used GG for Krogers but once I got the hang of matching my coupons w/ sales prices, I didn't really need it anymore. Also, my Kroger ads come out on Sunday. GG doesn't update until Tuesday so I found myself not doing my shopping until the end of the week and then I was in a time crunch. I do love that I can easily create shopping lists using GG though. I'm probably going to switch from Kroger to CVS and see how it helps me with my CVS deals.

I find all my info on AFC. Why pay for something that is on here already. I love that members update the Walgreens and CVS threads with their own deals.
