Following is a screenshot of the window you will see when adding a coupon to the database and the guidelines for entering each field.



Product - REQUIRED

This should be exactly what the coupon states it is good for including the brand and size.

Barcode - Optional

If available, please include the 12 digit barcode of the coupon. The first number will be a 5 or a 9 (a smaller number to the left of the manufacturer's code). The last number will be after the second group of 5 numbers - called a check digit.

Coupon Type - REQUIRED

Select the coupon type from the drop-down menu.

Value - REQUIRED

Type in the value of the coupon. Do not include the dollar sign, but please include 2 digits after the period (ex. 1.00 or .50). If the coupon is for a free item or B1G1, please type the amount that the coupon is good up to (ex. 1.39).

Off - REQUIRED

Enter the number of items you have to buy to redeem the coupon. If it is a free coupon, type FREE. If it is Buy 1 Get 1, type B1G1 (or B2G1 as the case may be). If it is a free item when you buy other items, type FREE WYB or FREE WYB2.

Expiration Date - REQUIRED

Type the expiration date in the format mm/dd/yy. Or check either NED for a No Expiration Date coupon or ROLLING for a printable coupon that has a rolling expiration date based on the date that you print it.

Source - Optional

Please include the source of the coupon where possible. For a Sunday insert coupon, first type the date in the format of mm/dd/yy and then include an SS for SmartSource, RP for Red Plum or PG for Proctor & Gamble. If there are multiple inserts from one of those, please type a 1 or 2 after the SS, RP or PG. Examples include "01/07/08 RP" or "01/07/08 SS1". If you found the coupon at a store, please type the name of the store. If it is from a magazine, please enter the Title of the magazine and the issue date (ex. All You 08/29/08).

Store Specific? - REQUIRED

This field is required, but will default to "No, MFR Coupon." Please indicate if the coupon has a store logo on it and if there is any text indicating if it is for use at that store only.

Link to Coupon - Optional

If the Coupon Type is "printable" please include a link to the site where it can be printed from. Include the http:// at the beginning of the link.

Additional Information - Optional

Any additional information that is given on the coupon (state restrictions, etc.) should be listed here. If there was too much information for the Product field, you may overflow here as well.
