What is the Coupon Database and how do I get to it?

The Coupon Database holds coupon information for coupons found around the country. These coupons come from all different sources - Sunday inserts, tearpads, blinkies, printable sites, etc. and from all different locations. You can access it from any page on AFC by clicking on the Coupon Menu at the top of the page.

How/why would I use the Coupon Database?

The Coupon Database holds an incredible amount of Printable Coupons!! It is also a great resource when you are trading for coupons. Perhaps you use Brand X of peanut butter and would like coupons for it. It is possible that someone in another part of the country got a coupon for it and you didn't - or perhaps they got a different value than you did and theirs is more appealing to you. Once you know that a coupon exists, you can post a thread in the For Sale Or Trade forum saying that you are looking to trade for it. You may not have otherwise known it was available! It is also invaluable for matching up your sale ads with coupons that exist to get the biggest bang for your buck!

How do I find coupons in the database?

When you first click on the database link, you will be presented with a list of all the current coupons (non-expired) in the database. You may then choose to filter the list by entering Search Terms in the fields provided. You only have to enter data into the fields you want to limit the search by. For instance, if you want to find all Kraft coupons, you would just type "Kraft" in the product field and press Search (or hit Enter).

How do I print coupons from the Database?

Remember, not all of the coupons in the database are printable. If a coupon is a printable one, it will have Printable as the Type and the Product name will be a link. If you click the product name, it will take you to the page where you can print the coupon.

What is this icon for?

Sometimes there is additional information you can view for a coupon. Since it will not all fit on the main list, you can click on this icon to see all of the details of that coupon.

What coupons should be entered into the database - and why?

ALL of your coupons should be entered into the database! Any time you find a coupon of any type, please check to see if it is in the database and enter it if it's not! This will ensure that we have the most comprehensive Coupon Database on the internet!

How do I enter new coupons in the database?

From the main Coupon Database page, select the Add a Coupon to the Database link. You must be an AFC member to add new coupons to the database. Please follow the Guidelines for entering new coupons shown at the bottom of the coupon entry page and be sure to SEARCH the database before adding so that you are not entering duplicates.

I entered a coupon but I don't see it in the list. Why not?

If you are a member with less than 100 posts, your coupon entry will go into moderation to be approved before appearing on the list.

What can I do if I see a coupon that is posted more than once or have some other issue with a coupon?

Beside the coupon in the search results, click on the Report icon to alert the Database Team of an issue.

If a coupon is in the database does that mean that AFC has it for trade?

No. Please don't email/PM the admins or other mods asking to trade for a coupon you find in the database. The coupons are entered by all members and they are not necessarily available for trade by anyone. If you find one you are interested in, please post in the For Sale Or Trade forum. However, watch for some exciting new functionality to the database in the near future regarding this.

What do I do if I have an issue with the database?
