I was at Costco today, crazy I know...funny thing is I was there yesterday, but just went straight to the formula and left....TOTALLY forgot I needed stuff for the 4th of July UGH....so today it was JAM PACKED...I dealt with it though, packed up the babies and went....so I was leaving and you know how they check the receipt...? Did you know that they are checking to make sure that the cashier didnt over charge you? I always thought they were checking to see if you "stole" any items, turns out the cashier DID over charge me and the same with another man at the door....they went and got my money back, I swear I probably wouldnt have even noticed... Costco!

That's great! They never seem to be scanning my reciept that carefully.

That's really neat... I don't have a Costco near me... I go to BJs and they do the same...

I think they just count the # of items in your cart vs. the reciept.

My Costco checks to make sure that you've received the stamps that you've paid for. I almost left without my roll of stamps before and wouldn't have known it until later. Thank goodness for good customer service.

I have to agree with this. I can't imagine they require checkers to know the prices of all the items in Costco. You just lucked out that they realized the price over rang or they knew there was a problem with the computers ringing up a price too high on a certain item.

They are checking the number of items in your cart vs number of items on receipt. My receipt said I had 7 items and my cart only had 6 items, therefore I was overcharged by 1 item....

When I was trained we were told to check the bottom of the basket,
look for doubles on the recite and if something seems funny check it.
