UPDATE - STEP BY STEP - OH BABY - GOTTA GET TO YOU GI-I-I-IRL..

REBATE FORM

1 - Find out what time your local STAPLES opens and write down their phone number!

2 - Call them and see if they have the printer in stock, and how much it is.

3 - You may want to drive past it on your way to BBY and go in to verify they do in fact have it, perhaps snap a photo of it on display with the price using your digital camera.

4 - Go to Best Buy, purchase printer, place in your car. DO NOT OPEN THE PRINTER! DO NOT TAKE OFF THE UPC! DO NOT TOUCH THE PRINTER YET!

5 - Put the REBATE RECIEPT and REBATE FORM with your printer.

5 - Go back to Best Buy later with ONLY the ORIGINAL PURCHASE RECIEPT, leaving the OTHER TWO documents in your car or purse or back pocket or whatever. Keep 'em out of sight!

6 - Go to customer service desk and tell them you bought the printer and just went to STAPLES and saw it there for less.

7 - Read the YMMV's below. One note about a printout from STAPLES.COM, Best Buy may claim it's an "Online Deal", just tell them you got the printout from the IN-STORE KIOSK at Staples, and that Staples said you could pay cash for it right then and there. Remember BBY is supposed to call Staples to verify the price, which they may or may not do. If they do have to call, supply them the phone number. Perhaps have that photo ready of the item in-store if they give you a hassle.

If anyone does take the above mentioned photo, post it here for others to use!

8 - Either you will get your price match or not. If you don't, try another Best Buy. Otherwise you can just return the printer.

YMMV for TWO REASONS --

1) Some BBY stores require an actual circular with the advertised price before they will call and PM..

2) Some STAPLES stores charge full price for some items when other stores have them on clearance..

This deal IS TOTALLY DO-ABLE however it may take some LEG WORK.

I was there waiting for the doors to open, got in got my printer (of course I forgot to buy a cord) and when I got up there to check out the cashier said if she priced matced that the rebates would not print out. Well I went ahead and paid the BB price and my rebates printed. I called Dawn and she went and told them to do the pice match to see if they would print anyway and they didn't. I am wondering if I wait a few days and take the receipt back along with my printed Staples page if they will price match and give me a refund. Now that I already have the rebate forms in hand?? Any idea's?

I'm gonna take mine back since the receipt says it it not eligible for rebates (BB) and start all over. MIght order it through BB.com and pick up in the store. Then go back a couple of days later. Wonder if the price match has to be done at the store you bought it at?

OK so the way to do this deal just like my OP

You buy - pocket the REBATE RECIEPT - PM with the original white reciept and use the REBATE RECIEPT for the MIR..

When you PM they will keep the white sales draft and give you the yellow..
