Well, I don't have a commissary opinion, but we are near each other! I'm down in Richmond. Maybe we could hook up in DC one day...I have 2 boys currently ages almost 4 and 18 mos. - if we ever get around to getting together, they may be older!

If you don't get an answer in the next couple of days you might want to pm armympwife. I am pretty sure she shops at a commissary.

Nah, doesn't surprise me at all - mainly because once you have kids, your life turns upside down & you don't have time to do anything anymore ! I keep meaning to go up to DC & see my cousin (who has some dishes for me from my great aunt's estate & has been holding onto them for me for almost 2 years!) & take the boys to the zoo now that they're old enough to make the trip worthwhile....

VA Beach can be fun, depending on what you want to do. The aquarium is awesome (and little ones love watching the big fish in the giant tanks). If you want to go to the beach, search out a parking space at the NORTH end of the beach. There aren't many & there's no lots up there, but it's so much less crowded it's worth it. The other option is to go down to Sandbridge, which is just south of VA Beach and use the public lot/public beach because not as many people go there (now, it was Sept. when we were in Sandbridge, so kids were in school, but it's an option to look into!).

i was in va beach once during spring break and my bf at the time was in intel school at norfolk base (marine) so needless to say we didn't see any of the "family orented" part of what va beach had to offer (didn't even knowthey had an aqurium) however i am really excited to show ds the fish! we have the lamp that projects the fish and he LOVES it we had to turn it off becuase it keep him up insted of "soothing your little one to sleep" (as the pakage insisted that it would do!) hopefully this summer we are going to go down there. my dh loves it down there (oddly enought he was in intell school down there as well) and he says it was great. thanks for the tip we will def. do that as well the baltamore aquarium is really nice as well however don't go on a weekend, you can't even move in there!

well i have the choice of 2 commisarys on post
they do vary on price why i have no clue.

but with just walmart and one groccery store in this town the best deals are to be found in the commisary.
specially with the health and beauty items

fruit and veggies i have found are the cheapest at walmart around here.
i guess if you have more groccery stores around you you actually have a better chance of finding better deals of post.
