just introducing myself
I am just now starting to roam around the "non coupon" areas of AFC. I work full time from home as a medical transcriptionist for a hospital and it gets really lonely sometimes :-(

After my divorce, I had been a stay at home mom up until then and had no idea what I wanted to do, but I went into the Medical Office Specialist program at the local technical school. I did really well and ended up graduating with a 4.0 and transcription is what I really did the best in. I got a job in a radiology office for 2 years in a boring 8-5 job, then was looking for a second job to supplement my income. I found one and then it turned out I made more at my second job than my main job and someone quit about 2 months after I started working for that hospital prn and they offered me the full time position. Needless to say I jumped at that opportunity!! I love being able to stay home with kids and still get a paycheck every two weeks.

That was in July of 2008. I'm glad I got in when I did because as everyone here knows the economy has gone way downhill since then. They have not hired anyone else since then and I have heard from my old instructors that enrollment in the program I graduated from had tripled, so there would be a lot more competition now.

my mom had a medical transcription business at home for 10 years...i used to help her, i'm a pediatric homecare nurse and sitting at my 10 month old client's house for 9 hours a day gets lonely too...i don't know if i could trust myself to be a wahm, i'd be on here all the time like i do when my kids go to bed.welcome!!!
