| Taking hangtags?
I was not sure where to post this because I feel that it could work in so many places so I chose to put it here because Target is the store that I want to do my deal at. I am in LOVE with the Sobe deal. My family is totally crazy over it. The stores always have TONS of them so that is no worry. My question involves the hangtags. My Targets never seem to have them. One of my Targets had them one day but the next day all of the bottles were still there (obviously not just refilled), but no coupons. It seems that more and more stores have the bottles with the hangtags, but the prices are no where near the savings that I would get if I took them to Target and did the GC sale. ( No stores with ANY doubles in Northern Ca) How okay is it to go into a store ( that I would be doing my shopping at regardless) and take the hangtags w/o purchasing the item. I am still so new to couponing that I don't even know how I feel about it. I want them for personal use. I will not be selling them, I will be redeeming them in a store, is it okay if the store that gets the credit is not the same store that I found the hangtags at? I saw a post where someone said that in some states that could be considered stealing. If I did it, could I get in trouble? I live in CA. I know that this is a much longer post then normal, but I felt only my coupon friends could help me out with this one. Please advise and TIA Last edited by w1df10wr; 01-30-2009 at 05:37 AM. |

maybe I should re-think my obsession, I posted about being desparate to use Sobe Q's, and then saw that I should have deleted my signature. I think I am starting to come off as CRAZY!! LOL

I dont think its unethical, it would definatetly be different if you were going to sell them IMO, but for your own personal use I wouldnt think that was bad...I take blinkies all the time from on store and use them at other stores! Hmmm....maybe someone else who's been around longer could share their opinion. My store was lazy with these particular Q's and just hung them on the side of the display. I have some left PM your addy and I will send them your way!

I honestly don't see a problem since you are buying the product. (event though elsewhere). I have done this too knowing I was going to buy the item.

I take any hang tag that I know I am going to use. In the past, I would take anything that I saw, but ended up never using them and never being able to get rid of them. I think of them the same way as any other coupon - blinkies, peelies - that don't come in the paper. No one would ever say anything if you took 15 blinkies!

yes, I've taken them before if it is something I use. Currently, they're only found in a store that does not double, so I would be paying 49 cents for the drink there. I take them to my other grocery store that doubles. In the end, the manufacturer is getting their ultimate goal, and that is to sell their product. I will admit, that I will NOT take all of them, unless there is only a few left. I don't think it's fair to take every last one of them and that seems like what happen at your store, one day you saw them and the next they were gone. That's too greedy if you ask me. I take what I know I will buy and leave some for others just like me that are trying to make ends meet. Thanks for your post!
