| Giving up my Costco membership
When we lived in Western Washington (10 mins from the Costco HQ and Flagship store in Issaquah), I LOVED our Costco--and never imagined I'd be giving it up--LOTS of fresh produce, $4.99 rotisserie chickens were a weekly staple, rice milk by the case (about 50% discount over retail), and the cheapest gas in town by about 12 cents a gallon. The food court even made these frozen Mocha Latte drinks (think frappucino) that were $1.35!! I definitely made back my membership several times over every year.
Since we've moved back east though, I've only visited the Costco in town twice, and both visits were VERY frustrating. Smaller store, hardly ANY fresh produce (not even bananas!?!), no rice milk (only soy here, which my food allergic son can't have), no frozen mochas (waaaaahhhh!)...for a while I was still getting gas there but since the Kroger put in gas pumps at two stores in the past couple months I'm not doing even that anymore. I've decided not to renew this month, which is sad to me because I used to LOVE Costco. |
