Whole Foods Market, a natural and organic foods supermarket, opened its newest store in Naples today.



The festivities began at 8 a.m. with a free continental breakfast followed by a traditional Whole Foods Market “bread breaking ceremony” — a foodie twist on the traditional ribbon cutting event.

The 52,000-square-foot store, located in the new Mercato Center at the intersection of Vanderbilt Beach Road and Tamiami Trail, is Whole Foods Market’s first store in Southwest Florida and is generating approximately 100 new jobs in addition to the 100+ Team Members who are being transferred from the Wild Oats store that recently closed.

Grand opening activities will continue throughout the day and weekend with special free product samples, in-store chef demonstrations, free classes in the Lifestyle Center, live music, and events for all ages. Details are available in the store and online at wholefoods.com.
