| Formula checks + manufacturer coupon??
Went to my local Walmart and was told I couldn't use a formula check and a coupon on 1 can of formula. I tried to explain that a check is a check and a coupon is a coupon. I've done it a thousand times, they run the check through their machine (like a check) and the back of the check even states that the retailer should deposit in their bank just as they would a customers check but the cashier, a csm, and "the store manager" all said that I was trying to use 2 coupons on one item. I was so mad that I had her cancel my $100+ transaction. I called 1-800-Walmart and they said someone would call me back. Does anyone know the actual policy with using formula checks and coupons?

If I remember right, it says exactly how to use on the check. Run through machine like a check. If it says manufacture coupon on it, than thats a coupon too. Did it have a phone number on it? I would call it and ask them how it works. I always used both the checks and coupons together but it has been awhile! |

I am looking at a formula check and it states Consumer: Redeem like a coupon, one per purchase. Retailer: Deposit like a check.

I buy formula @ WM every now and then and have encountered some cashiers who refused a check with formula coupon. I don't argue, I just take them off the transaction and go to customer service. All the time, CS cashier took both for 1 can without asking questions. I may have to walk to CS to buy it there but overall, it saves me time and aggravation knowing that it always gets approved @ CS since they have not been notified of changes of accepting a formula check with coupon. I know it may change @ anytime but I'll cross that bridge when they change the rules in the WMs I shop @.

| image-904945710.jpg The word "coupon" appears no where on the Similac checks. I know that the Gerber ones state to use as a coupon but these do not. |

I always had the same problem at my Wal-Mart with Similac checks & coupons. I ended up at CS everytime to buy the formula. The Similac checks did not have the word coupon anywhere on them. For some reason the registers would not recognize them as checks so they would key them as coupons. I did not see why I should be penalized for their registers not working properly.

I called Enfamil and asked them a few months ago according to them the check is a CHECK and coupon is a COUPON so they can be used together, I have always do it this way, I'm sorry your cashier wouldn't take it, I would go to another store and purchase the formula there!

I'm sorry they are giving you a hard time , if you live near one & if you get the ToysRus/BabiesRus flyer you can maximize your savings w/ the check & coupon they have. There is a $4/2 one out or a 20% off w/ any non-sale purchase good till 7/19. You should email similac re: this issue, so it is clear, you never know you might get a free can out of it.
