I was just at Walmart (remembering now why I hate that store). I went over the "coupon limit" so a csm had to come over. He began to read each and every coupon I had...making 2 separate stacks as he's going. He then tells me that he was "flagged" to come to the register because some of my coupons aren't accepted at Walmart. He claims any coupons that are sent to CMS Dept clearing house are no good to them and not accepted. (I had Red Barron pizza $1 off, Tonys pizza $1 off, Castleberry chili $1 off 2, and Glade $1 off.) Have any of you heard of this craziness before? TIA

I think you were just the subject of coupon discrimination! Call corperate and handle your business!

I am a csm and have no idea what in the heck he is talking about. ha ha. (unless something changed in the past two days i've had off) his palm pilot beeps from the register if you have over the limit, yes. but there is no way it can "flag" him to come for specific coupons. perhaps the casher put in the code to call the csm over during the transaction.

You are kidding me! CMS was the clearinghouse used by Vyrl Mkt - the sham company that distributed unauthorized high value coupons on Facebook a few years ago. I was able to dig up this article about it - from 2008! Coupons Associated with vyrl mkt, Inc.

That is the last time I've ever heard of someone having their coupons rejected b/c of which clearinghouse they get sent to. There was so much misinformation about these coupons (both from vyrl mkt and managers trying to educate cashiers on how to spot them) that I remember reading here several times that any coupon going there or to any address in Del Rio was being rejected. CMS is a leigtimate clearing house and hundreds of legit coupons have Del Rio redemption addresses. I would bet that manager just got wind of an old memo and is on a wild goose chase!

I thought it sounded like bs. The cashier and I even tried to explain to him that the reason he was "flagged" over was because of the number of coupons I was using...but he insisted that wasn't the reason. The cashier even questioned him..."so you are saying that even if the register accepts those CMS coupons, I'm still not supposed to take them?". He told her she needs to read every coupon to verify they aren't going to CMS. She sort of rolled her eyes at him when he wasn't looking. Haha. Ohhh...and get this...I almost forgot... He told me (and I quote), "Winn Dixie will take them though, so you should try there." I'm sure corporate will be sooooo proud to hear their CSMs are sending their business to other stores! So....that is what I will do. I went straight to customer service and got a refund on every item I wasn't allowed to use a coupon on. I only wish that HE was the one that had to restock it!

How does one "flag" a CSM ? I've never seen any cashiers waving the caution flag at the CSM's ?
Did Wal-mart install panic buttons under the registers for couponers now ?

Cashiers can punch in a 3 digit code into the computer that calls over a csm.
