blinkies

I found some $1/1 sensodyne blinkies at cvs that i gave to my dad to use. When he tried to use them at walmart, they told him they dont accept them bc they are not MQs. Is that correct?

Not correct at all. Wal-Mart will accept competitor's coupons as a price match. They take the amount of the coupon off of the actual amount, as a price match. You can actually use a competitor's coupon along WITH a manufactorer's coupon If this happens again ask to speak to a manager, and if they still tell you the same, let them know you will be reporting them to corporate. I had to that at a local walmart :\

I'm sorry, but I have to disagree. I think the policy says they will accept competitor coupons with a specific price, but not $/$ coupons. So if you have a cvs coupon that says $1/1 sensodyne, they will not take that. If you have a cvs coupon that says Sensodyne $1, that is acceptable.

I thought blinkies were MQ?? I'm kinda confused now.

It doesn't say on the coupon that it is a MQ or a store coupon. but it does say on the back:

"Retailer: GSK will reimburse you the face value of this coupon plus .12 Handling Fee if submitted in compliance with our Redemption Policy..."

So wouldn't that make the blinkie a MQ, therefore WM should accept it?

Thanks for both of your responses!

That is what I thought. Guess I'll buy it for my Dad so he doesn't have to deal with the hassle of WM and coupons!

I believe they are MQs since they have a remit address, but walmart coupon policy states:
Must have “Manufacturer Coupon” printed on them

Therefor they have the right to refuse the coupon since it does not state it is a MQ on the coupon.

OH! I did not know that! Well, I'll try my walmart then. Maybe they will accept it there.

My WM accepts blinkies, except when they don't. There's no rhyme or reason to their refusal. I've had the same cashier reject/accept them on different days.

Not true according to all 3 walmart's that I have within a 50 mile radius of me.
For example, I printed out the Target Coupon for $1/any 1 Glade , and I took it to my wal-mart that had the glade spray for .98 cents. They price-matched it to make it free. They can't give you overage since they just price-match competitor's coupons, but they can and will at least price match. At least at the wal-mart's that I have nearby me.

That ^ is precisely what policy says. But the same ppl who point fingers when someone else uses a coupon incorrectly will go in with cents off coupons from other stores demanding they be accepted. Which will likely lead to the demise of PM overall.

Disclaimer: the above is not directed at any particular person, but rather at the slew of them who feel breaking WM policy is ok if it benefits them.

^^ this is correct per official policy. you can see this on the right side, middle part of the policy on pdf mentioning competitors coupons NOT accepted.

https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&q...Vv1ebFq_kSLU-w

while I understand there are WMs who allow use of competitor's coupons like WAG IVCs and Target web and inserts coupons for $/cents off a product as ad match, it clearly goes AGAINST policy. However, with all of WMs inconsistencies in following official policy, it has always been YMMV.

I know it is not you who made this policy @ your store but I'm leery about what happens to cashiers who do this on their own w/o asking upper management on matching outright FREE using a competitor's coupon?

any cashier who will not call a CSM or AM to make sure they are doing it right might end up fired. UNLESS they are 100% sure (meaning they have a memo received about such policy) their store follows a different policy than the official coupon policy of WM, I don't know of any cashier that would input a price of 0.00 marked as ad match EVEN if they keep the Target web/inserts coupon as proof.

From what I've read most WMs who do AFTER RR/ECB/UP ad match, DO NOT match those FREE after RRs/ECB/UPs, so why would they make Target web/inserts store coupons an exception?

I tried using a blinkie I got at another store for dog treats at Walmart, and it beeped. They could not accept it because it did not say "Manufacturer Coupon". So I didn't buy the dog treats!
