I never understood the reasoning behind price matching. Why not just go to the store in the ad?

1) My Walmart usually has more stock than the other stores, so I can get more without clearing the shelf. 2) My Walmart is very coupon friendly, so I don't have to deal with the cashiers at other stores who don't know how to ring up a Q etc... 3) Overage! If my Q is for more that the price of the item, I still get full value for the Q. 4) I'm in there anyway so why waste the gas going somewhere else?

I'm not a huge Wal Mart fan but I go there for bottled water (5 gallon bottle) and a few other things. Winn Dixie and CVS are closer to me and less of a pain to deal with. Does Wal Mart price match BOGO deals? Winn Dixie always has BOGO deals that would be a little cheaper but I never bother trying to go to WM because WD is within walking distance and WM is not. |

| I PM'd at Walmart today Aldi Foods red and green seedless grapes for $.99/per lb.; and Walmart's price for red and green seedless grapes are $1.75/per lb. At N VA grocery stores (i.e. Giant Food or HT), the grapes are $1.29 to $2.49/per lb. Sale at Aldi's is for w/o 02/15/12. No ad needed; but you can print the ad from Aldi's web site. Foodie (Katie) |

| Most Walmarts do not accept cents off q's from other stores. It is actually against the policy but I know that some stores will, so this is an YMMV thing.

| So when you say cents off does that mean its a no go on the family dollar 5 off 25 from todays red plum? I understand they don't take % off coupons but I hoped they would take the 5/25.

| That would definitely be a no go. Walmart's policy expressly does not match any amount off the whole basket

Twenty miles further to the store I want to price match. That is almost 2 gallons of gas for a round trip. Saves me gas $$ and $$.

| Rainbow Foods
Price matching Kellogg's cereals from the Rainbow foods. Cereal $1.98 a box, lots of $.70-$1.00 coupons, plus the $5/5 Kellogg's coupon from the coupons.com this weekend. Makes cereal $.98 a box! I bought eight this morning on my way to work, I will be going back when I have more time! I'm also price matching the Wonder bread from the Cub Foods ad. $1.49 a loaf, my Walmart it is $1.69, not huge, but it helps.

I understand what you are saying and actually in this case the cashier was right. (shocking I know it) The cvs ad just stated buy one box of cheerios get one free but it did not list what price the cheerios were originally. Thanks though. No I'm not one of thoooose couponers!!! |

Her logic was kind of off but her statement was true. No store has a free button for bogo sales, I just missed the actual listed price requirement. No I'm not one of thoooose couponers!!! |
