I never understood the reasoning behind price matching. Why not just go to the store in the ad?

There are lots of reasons, but mine are:
1) My Walmart usually has more stock than the other stores, so I can get more without clearing the shelf.
2) My Walmart is very coupon friendly, so I don't have to deal with the cashiers at other stores who don't know how to ring up a Q etc...
3) Overage! If my Q is for more that the price of the item, I still get full value for the Q.
4) I'm in there anyway so why waste the gas going somewhere else?

I agree with the other users but also I don't like the meat, smell or looks of a store around new (food town) but they have GREAT prices

I'm not a huge Wal Mart fan but I go there for bottled water (5 gallon bottle) and a few other things.

Winn Dixie and CVS are closer to me and less of a pain to deal with.

Does Wal Mart price match BOGO deals? Winn Dixie always has BOGO deals that would be a little cheaper but I never bother trying to go to WM because WD is within walking distance and WM is not.

Fyi PMing at Wal-mart

I PM'd at Walmart today Aldi Foods red and green seedless grapes for $.99/per lb.; and Walmart's price for red and green seedless grapes are $1.75/per lb. At N VA grocery stores (i.e. Giant Food or HT), the grapes are $1.29 to $2.49/per lb.

Sale at Aldi's is for w/o 02/15/12. No ad needed; but you can print the ad from Aldi's web site.

Most Walmarts do not accept cents off q's from other stores. It is actually against the policy but I know that some stores will, so this is an YMMV thing.

So when you say cents off does that mean its a no go on the family dollar 5 off 25 from todays red plum? I understand they don't take % off coupons but I hoped they would take the 5/25.

That would definitely be a no go. Walmart's policy expressly does not match any amount off the whole basket

Twenty miles further to the store I want to price match. That is almost 2 gallons of gas for a round trip. Saves me gas $$ and $$.

Rainbow Foods

Price matching Kellogg's cereals from the Rainbow foods. Cereal $1.98 a box, lots of $.70-$1.00 coupons, plus the $5/5 Kellogg's coupon from the coupons.com this weekend. Makes cereal $.98 a box!

I bought eight this morning on my way to work, I will be going back when I have more time!

I'm also price matching the Wonder bread from the Cub Foods ad. $1.49 a loaf, my Walmart it is $1.69, not huge, but it helps.

Mine did the other day. The girl just split the price of one I half. Meaning the item was $2 and she rang them both up for $1. Didn't think they did that though. The ad I had said bogo saw up to 3.19 so i thought she should have rang them up for 1.60 each.

I was an assistant manager over operations so please don't judge me when I say this but as nice as I can say your cashier or csm was an idiot. That's just freaking dumb! Obviously they would make 1 $1 and 1 $.99 or type in 2 for $1.99 (which by the way is literally an option) that's why their policy states we will pm a b1g1 as long as the price is listed.... I get frustrated my self at my local Walmart and have pretty much banned it myself!!
