TRIAL size vs. TRAVEL size

Usually the cashiers at my WM who aren't coupon savy try to make a big deal when trying to use a $1.00 off coupon on a TRAVEL size item. Not only do they take about 3 min to read over the coupons but then they hesitate to scan it. These items are usually .97 to $1.97. I typically go with the "I'm right if it scans" method. Sometimes I find myself wondering if things are trial or travel size, somethings work but others don't, anyone care to give me their input?

The "I'm right if it scans" method is not always right. Sometimes coupons will scan either way. If it does not say "Excludes trial or excludes travel size" or if it does say "ANY" then you are good to go As for figuring out if it IS a travel/trial size, I tend to check closely on the packaging. Usually they seem to say something about it or will have a little plane pic on it. Hth

Agreed. Plenty of coupons will scan for the trial/travel size when it says 'excludes trial/travel'. That's why the new barcode system was created.

Yes, to me, they are the same thing. The reasoning I have heard is that trial sizes are packets/samples which aren't even for sale in the first place so how would we even be able to use a coupon on them. Doesn't make sense to me....

Trial size is usually big enough for 1-2 uses, travel size is bigger..
