Does anyone besides myself think it is funny or odd that every time wm scans a turkey that huge LIMIT 2 comes up on the register and the cashier has to acknowledge the message? My cashier today said "i do not know why i keep getting that message." ..... UH, THERE IS A LIMIT OF 2 PER CUSTOMER.
I guess they really can enforce limits if they want to.

Reminds me of the old game show where peeps run thru a store and fill up as much in their carts. Many went right to the meats back then.

Yup it is funny. When I went to walmart to get my turkey I bought 1 cuz my deep freeze is full. I saw ppl with 6 or more in there carts. The limit was clearly written by the price. I hope that reminder comes in handy when they cash out! Rules are rules it should go for all!

I went and got 1 and nothing else went to self checkout and they had to come over because the computer said "visual"

we only got 1.. since i have never heard of that brand .. ours was like 22 pounds for under 9.00

My mom was going to get one but our WM was out....how can they really enforce the limit if you can come back later or have every relative and friend you know get one for you?? They sure are trying tho!

Heck wal-mart is so big you could check out on one end and go to the other and they would never know!!! But I only bought 2 the other day!!

i guess that means visualize that cart and make sure they did not get more than 2 turkeys!

I was on a bargain board where someone's local store did something similar. there were 3 people that got to run the store and the person with the most won their groceries. the lady on the board ran it and won! I think they also won cash, but can't reme,ber. the messed up part about her deal is that it was done during regular business hours and other customers had no idea what was going on. they were getting strange looks of like "why the heck are you running like a crazy person?!?!" LOL

Our local Fox station is doing that as a sweeps week contest right now. 5 people will get a 5 minute shopping spree to come as close but not over a certain $ amount and then the one who wins the semi-final gets the "real" 3 minute shopping spree. But it's at a discount store (like a Kmart) not a grocery store. They could do serious $$ damage in the electronics department.

Sort I digress. What is the Walmart turkey deal? May have to go and check it out. We don't get any sort of Walmart flier here (sort of the black hole of ads living in a rural area) so I must of missed this one.

I got (2) riverside (brand) turkeys for .40/lb each.

Cheez! with the prices you guys are listing I understand the limit. Our store had two coolers of freezers - all butterball -and all .98/lb limit 2. No wonder they had so many!
.98/lb is not a great deal!!

Yes it was called Supermarket Sweep, but it aired in the mid 60's on ABC. You can see them in archives at The MBC Archives : Login, might have to sign up first.

Anyhow I remember full well watching in B&W and getting so excited that people would actually be able to put so many groceries in their basket for free!

Finally got 2 turkeys today. My Walmat said they aren't giving rain checks. The cashier told me this morning the someone was buying 6 at a time last night, that the other cashier had figured out how to override the limit on the register...that might explain why it took me so long to get any!
