Manager said NO to Vive Deal...

Sorry if this is a repost, there are far too many posts to read. I'm not sure if I should be upset with myself or the manager at the Walgreens that I just came from.

Anyway, I was trying to do the Vive Pro Hydra Gloss deal for which Wags has a BOGO deal. Maybe I was being too cautious or stupid (you decide), but I asked the manager how it works with THEIR deal and my BOGO coupon. He simply said that I can't use both without buying two. So I would need to buy 1 to get 1. I have been reading on here some about everyone else success, but was nervous about trying to do it without asking. Maybe that was my mistake. Just needed to vent, I guess. Thanks for your time.

I'm sorry you had a hard time. It's always so dissapointing when the deal doesn't work out right. I had my own horror story over at Rite Aid last night trying to do the same deal. Both the cashier and manager said no, and after repeatedly telling them, nicely of course, that I was not trying to "combine" coupons or do anything wrong, the manager finally understood what I was trying to do and okayed the transaction. So sometimes you just need to persist nicely - other times it's just a stupid clerk/manager that is hating the awesome deals we are figuring out and decide to make us suffer. Better luck next time - don't let this one try get you down!!!!!

I had the same problem at WAGS to. I didn't press it b/c there were people behind me. Check the end caps at your local Target with the VIVE w/bonus pack. I ended up with 4 shampoos and 4 conditioners for 7.50 using the $1/1 and BOGO coupons. I still have one BOGO coupon left that I am going to try and use at CVS next week.

I think that this is YMMV kind of thing. Each store has the right to decide if they will or won't, but IMHO they are losing $$ by not taking them. It just blows my mind that they frown coupons sometimes. Coupons=$$$$$

I went to Wags the other day and hit a snag with the cashier as well. She was like - you don't need to use this because it's already bogo and gave me my Q back. So I nicely gave the Q back to her and said I'd still like to use it because if you take off another bogo for the $4.99 then I'll get them both free and you guys will be paid by the manufacturer for the one you want me to buy plus the $.08 handeling fee. So really its a win win situation if they would just listen. She took it. I was only doing one to test it so I only had the 2 vives. I'm saving my Q's to try either at Rite Aid or CVS. Sorry your deal stunk so bad. I really hate when that happens especially because I'm not "seasoned" at couponing and sometimes get completely overwhelmed and intimidated even though I'm not doing anything wrong!! Try it again if you have another Wags or wait until CVS or Rite Aid have the deal.

Count me as another who had no luck with the deal. I knew it was too good to be true when I walked into my WAGS & the shelf was fully stocked at 5:00pm. I grabbed 4 (didn't want to push my luck) and walked up to the register with that and a bag of M&M's for a snack. She rang it all up and when I handed the cashier the coupons she walked to the side/looked at some memo, looked at my coupons again and then went and got the girl out of photo. They both looked at the memo, looked at the coupons and proceeded to tell me they thought I should get 3 to use one coupon - I tried the line that they would get reimbursed by the manufacturer but they said they had a memo on the use of these coupons. I told them that they let me do it at Rite Aid (had not tried it) and took my coupons and left everything there.

Will try at Rite Aid or another WAGS tomorrow.

Has anyone called corporate about this? Isn't there a post around here somewhere of a letter from WAGS stating what their corp policy is?

The manager at a WAG tonight told me I couldn't use the BIGI cou because then I would be getting it for free. Apparently she didn't like that. I went and got them for FREE from Rite Aid.

I usually only go to Walgreens now when I know this teenage boy that plays with Lanah is cashier, ! She's gaga for him and he eats the attention up so he doesn't pay any attention to what I give him and pushes anything through that gives him a problem. He's actually a cute, trendy guy so its really funny to me that he doesn't shrug her off or ignore her!

I didn't try this at walgreens because it was a batter deal for me at rite aid...
Using the coupons from the rite aid beauty handbook and the bogo gave me a $4 overage. Of course is a ymmv. I did do the razor deal using the ivc, $2 mq, and the bogo mq with no issues at walgreens though.... 4 packs of razors for free!!

I have had similar problems at wags with these coupons ... in the end I was able to get them but only by being persistant... The last time I had to actually explain to the cahier how to put it through!!! I only knew bc the other cashiers had such trouble with this.. They need to put in the middle of the bar code as well as the 4.99 manually.... I would try again at a different store... It sucks but the worst they can say is no... well and treat you poorly... I know I was a few of the times, I was treated as If I was doing something wrong bc I got them free. But other times cahiers would force them and were really nice about it even saying wow I need to do this!!

There were only 3 bottles on the shelf at my Walgreens. I was able to get 2 and use the coupon w/ no problem (and that was all that I was getting, so I paid a whopping $0.35 for tax only LOL). And the cashier nicely gave me a raincheck for 18 bottles so I could use my other 9 coupons later.

Just take your stuff to the register to be rung up, and then hand them your coupon(s). The coupon will beep, when it does just tell the cashier that it's $4.99, and that's what they should put in as the coupon value. If they try to tell you that you can't use it b/c you would be getting it for free, remind them that the manufacturer pays them back for the coupons so they will get their $4.99, just not from you. LOL

It's usually easier to get forgiveness than consent.

If I think something will work, I test the waters. If it works, good. If it doesn't, then I ask them to take the item off my ticket.

If I were you, I'd try another WG.

I haven't experience using a BOGO raincheck. how does it work?

if its a raincheck 2/$4.99 from what I know they modify it 2.00 and 2.99 or whatever 50% value for each [just like the BOGO dixie saucer/plates]

if we use the BOGO coupon, we'll still end up paying for one, isn't it?

that's why I'm not inclined to ask for RC because I may not get them free since the price has to be modified and it will depend now on what cashier you get and what they write on your BOGO Q.

I haven't used a raincheck there before, but when I go back to use mine (assuming they don't get more in tomorrow for me to go ahead and finish my deal), I'm going to make sure to check out w/ the same person who wrote the raincheck. She specifically wrote it for BOGO, not 2/$4.99, so I'm assuming that means she'll just make every other one ring up at $0. She saw what I was doing and 'got it' and thought it was great, so I'm assuming she'll know how to handle her own raincheck so that it works out correctly.
