WAG Coupon Guidelines Walgreen stores accept a variety of coupons everyday. The coupons generally fall into two categories. Walgreen issued coupons and manufacturer issued coupons. We will accept one Walgreen issued coupon and one manufacturer coupon for the same item, unless either coupon prohibits such use. You may use a "Walgreens" Roto Ad coupon and a manufacturer's coupon, toward the purchase on any one item. Walgreens does not provide cash back if a coupon is presented for more than the purchase value of the item. Coupons from other retailers or coupons for products not carried in our stores are not accepted. All valid coupons must be presented to the cashier at the time of sale. When purchasing two of the same item with a Buy one get one free coupon offer can an additional manufacturers coupon or store coupon be used in combination on the purchase? NO. One item is being purchased and only one coupon can be used. If a product is purchased for a price of .78 (cents), for example, and a coupon is given with face value of $1.00, how much is the proper coupon deduction? Product retail plus taxes, unless state requires consumer to pay taxes. If a coupon states "good on any size of the product" but does not specifically exclude trail sizes of this product, can the coupon be used on the trial size of the product? Yes, unless coupon is printed with the wording (excluding trail sizes). Does the term, "one coupon per purchase", mean per item or per visit to the store? Per item purchased. May coupons be used toward the purchase of clearance items? Yes, however Walgreens does not provide cash back if a coupon is presented for more than the purchase value of the item. Must internet coupons be printed from the internet in color or is black and white acceptable? It does not matter how internet coupons are printed. If I have three coupons and three items will all of the coupons double/triple and allow me to make like savings on like products? We will accept one Walgreen issued coupon and one manufacture coupon for the same one item, unless either coupon prohibits such use. Does a Manager have the right to limit the number of ad items I purchase even though there is no limit listed in the ad circular? Yes, Managers have the right to limit quantities of all advertised items. Can a store which does not sell an advertised item issue me a rain-check for that item? Rain checks are not available from stores that do not carry the advertised item. Do you except expired coupons? No expired coupons If I purchase an item with a coupon and I return the item, will I receive a refund for the coupon as well? No. Price Matching Policy? As a company we do not price match so the answer to all of the below questions are no. Do you price match any ad from any store or just certain ones? If only certain ones, what is the criteria? Does the ad have to have a date on it? Do you price match internet stores/ads? If so, what information must be printed out? What do you say to the cashier when you get to the register to actually do the price matching? Can you use a coupon on an item that is price matched (e.g., food items)? Are all store items including all food items, eligible for price matching? Do you price match your own stores if one location is cheaper than another? Accurate Price scan guarantee: If an item scans at a price different from the advertised stated price, what is the customer entitled to, if anything. Currently we do not have a price guarantee policy.

So is this the email that you sent to corporate with their answers on it? If so, then this is great information!! I love being able to say that Corporate states you can take a Q on a clearance item...I did however, always know that they should never give you money back on a Q as is the case with "overage" on some purchases..I guess as long as your total is over $0.00 there is no way for them to know that you had gotten overage!! Thanks for posting.

no i asked what the policy was and they sent me this entire email of their coupon accepting guidelines. This was all typed out by the rep who sent it to me.

So those aren't your questions?? They had them already asked like that in the email?? How weird! Goes to show we aren't the only ones that were wondering what WAGS coupon policy was!

I wonder if this is why my WAG wouldn't let me use 2 Jane coupons. "When purchasing two of the same item with a Buy one get one free coupon offer can an additional manufacturers coupon or store coupon be used in combination on the purchase? NO. One item is being purchased and only one coupon can be used." But surely an ad BOGO has to be different than a coupon BOGO. Wouldn't you think? Guess I need to send another email to corporate to find out.

Awesome. I just hope the answer ends up being detrimental to our couponing on BOGOs.

This is funny. Below I have posted the email from corporate I received just 2 days ago. My question was specifically limited to BOGO and using 2 manu. coupons (1 for each item). February 25, 2008 Dear , Thank you for taking your time to contact our Corporate Offices. We appreciate hearing from our customers and value all comments received. We do not have a coupon policy. We use guidelines and if only one item is being purchased then only one coupon can be used. If this does not answer your question, you will need to contact the store manager directly or call the district office at 1-800-Walgreens for assistance. Again, thank you for letting us know about your satisfaction. We truly appreciate your thoughtfulness. Sincerely, Marci T. Consumer Response Representative Ref # 1428227

Hmmm...Here is the response I got. I asked for the coupon policy too but din't get one. Wonder what happens if you try to return 1 item from a bogo sale. Do they give you half the purchase price back, the whole thing or just the tax? Thank you for taking your time to contact our Corporate Offices. We appreciate hearing from our customers and value all comments received. When shopping a Walgreens B1G1 sale you may use 1 manufacturer coupon. Only one item is actually being purchased, therefore you can only use 1 coupon. You may not use a B1G1 coupon with another B1G1 coupon. Only 1 manufacturer coupon may be used to purchase a product at a time. Again, thank you for letting us know about your satisfaction. We truly appreciate your thoughtfulness. Sincerely, April S. That was posted 2-3 months ago and companies DO change their policies. That could be the case here!
