| You know you're one of *those* shoppers when....
You have a cart full of items, list in hand, coupons ready.......... and you get to the check-out ready to pay tax, and flip out when your total is $5 more than you expected. Shopping with kids is hard. I got home, looked at my receipt and figured it out. Charged for 3 Advil rather than 2. How simple that would have been to figure out in the store, had one little person not been in meltdown mode at the time of check out. ![]() I'm really thankful for those .49 Advil Migraine pills today! | I had some RRs expiring this weekend and wanted to use them before then. I hate feeling pressured to get to the store. Since I had to get snacks/sodas for one of DS's activities anyway, I went to WAG. I got: 2 cans of Pringles $3 2 Butterfingers $1 2 2 liter Pepsi products $3 2 Advil Migraine Liquigels 40 ct $4.99 each 1 Sleep Sheets $5 used $1/1 Sleep Sheets $2/1 x 2 Advil 4 x $4 RRs I received 2 x $5 RRs (Advil and Sleep Sheets) I expected my subtotal to be .93 + tax. No time to argue, as I was almost late for an appt. The total was $5.94 + tax. I called when I finally got home and was told to bring in the receipt and they will refund the extra $4.99 + tax. |

Mine was trying to meltdown over a $7 magazine. I said, "Boy, do you have a RR or a Q for that??" I give him some lower value RRs when he shops with me, as his "commission." The magazine didn't seem that crucial when it was his "money" he had to spend.

OP, I'm glad your store believed you and will refund the overcharge. Mine would undoubtedly want me to sign something in blood and still wouldn't believe me.

My 3yo is at this stage where she wants to go with me wherever I go, so i can definitely empathize. I let her pick out my filler a few times and we were walking the seasonal aisle for 20 minutes! This last time I got so distracted at checkout that I put it in the wrong transaction and ended up having to add an extra filler.. Grr! Sent from my iPhone using AFullCup |

I wish I had that for an excuse, but I seem to mess up all by my lonesome. Tonight one of my transactions was $2.xx, I was like wait a minute that isn't right, so the cashier and I figured it out. We were laughing at how $2 was way too much. She said some people go crazy over .50¢.

Trying to keep our transactions with our little angels can be tough, but I wouldn't change being a Mom for anything in the world!

I can't shop wags with my kids (ages 4 months, 2 and 3). Wags takes too much concentration ! I CAN take them to CVS though and the grocery store. I have to write a VERY detailed list for shopping which includes number of each coupon I will be handing over (for both man and store q's), cost of items before and after coupon, number of each items, and what my total SHOULD look like. I use individual envelopes to separate transactions. Each envelope has a list of items, and coupon listed. Finding the time to prep is a pain, but it makes shopping easier when the older 2 are fighting, the baby is crying, I am bouncing to sooth the baby and I'm searching through my purse for my wallet, and the people behind me in the checkout line are giving me dirty looks. :-) |

I Have 3 girls always running, fighting, or crying and wanting everything, putting items in cart when I'm not looking and when I'm at register to do separate transaction they put everything together confusing me and cashier. AAAHHHH P. S. there's should be some kind of day care while you shop at any store |

P. S. there's should be some kind of day care while you shop at any store[/quote] Omg. i would pay to shop in peace. I still have yet to get a totally free transaction bc I "have" to buy bubbles to silence my toddler. I wish there were some sort of drop-in daycare for shopping and the gym (who axed their daycare room right when I found out I was pregnant). Not all of us have sitters at our disposal!!! |

Some of the grocery stores here had drop in babysitting services while parents shopped. They did not last too long, not sure why. I'm assuming there's a good reason.

I went last night to CVS with my 15yo son and 19yo daughter. I'm trying to teach her to coupon as she's getting ready to go off to college. So I did my transaction and she was doing her transaction (with her brand new CVS card! : ) she's quite excited over having one of her own. ) and we could barely concentrate.....my 15yo was all over the place, bouncing balls, asking for seeds, candy, gum, asking what was taking so long....seriously he was bouncing all over the place. We went home immediately after that and she and I decided to go to Wags tonight (as that was our next stop - right across the street from cvs). I think i would have much rather had a baby crying and fussing over him last night. sheesh! : )

I know the feeling! Most days I have to take my 3 yr old twins and 5 year old with me when I coupon (otherwise I'd have to go after 9pm when DH is home, or take all my 5 kiddos with me on the weekend ...just add a 7 and 8 year old to the mix). Anyways, I tend to bribe them with a 10 min trip to the toy aisle and although they ask for everything and anything, their payoff is the cheap treats they'll get in the car if they behave in the store. i keep my trunk stocked with free/cheap candy and toys (thanks fillers!). Plus my older 3 know the rules...no begging, no touching, no crying or no treat!

I also have a set of twins (15) and thought life was good now that they are older but let me tell you - somedays I truely believe they were easier to deal with with they were newborn to 5yos. Terrible two's? Heck no.....Terrible Teenagers! |

Thank you for this thread. It literally made me ! I can relate to so much, am in awe of so much (9? Omg!), and think we will all be at the point where we miss the little ones in the blink of an eye. And I, too, make mistakes on my own. Made one yesterday, no 3 year old to blame
