So, when I thought I've seen and heard them all, this is another funny story for y'all - Enjoy! Today, the Manager - at a Walgreens I frequent - gave me a new definition and usage requirement of Register Reward. She wants to treat it as a “coupon”. (AKA Each Register Reward has to be paired with ONE item in my basket AND that each Register Reward has to be less than or equal to the price of that ONE item). She said, since I bought 4 items, and I had already used one manufacture coupon on one item, I have a choice to apply my $10 Register Reward “coupon” on any ONE of the three items in my basket which has to be $10 or more. Although my total was way more than $10, none of my “other” items cost more than $10. Therefore she refused to take my $10 Register Reward. I asked her to clarify the use of my $10 Register Reward, she said, I had to find something in the store, which costs $10 or more in order to use my $10 Register Reward. If this is the new Walgreens Register Reward policy, I told her, I claim my ignorance. However, she said it has been this way at her store for quite a while. She said that other stores might have done their business differently, but they are wrong. I told her, I sure don’t want to go to another Walgreens and use my Register Reward the “wrong way” and get them into trouble later on. So, I asked for her name and title, and told her I will let corporate know about the other stores "wrong doing"

Haha that's funny. The rr is used like a mfg coupon and as long as ur total is more then ten bucks they should have accepted it. Too funny

That's just plain stupid. You can buy 10 items for a dollar each and be able to use $10 RR no problem. Make sure you call corporate on her...

it never ceases to amaze me how your shopping trip @ Wags can be so different, depending on the Manager on shift!

Manager at the store I go to had a different spin on RR. She told me I can only take advantage of 3 offers a week. This included if I used a RR i can only use 3 in a week, or 3 sales, or if i used a RR and a mfr Q and got a RR then that's all I could do in a week. She said she was a couponer so she knew. I had like $300 worth of stuff to buy (mostly regular stuff not on sale) and $64 in RR from last week and she told me I couldn't buy anything else. She started removing my items from my cart!! I told her that's ok didn't argue. She stayed there with her arms crossed glaring at me and followed me out the store... I understand each offer has limits per customer but sheesh. She even said she reserved the right to impose ANY limits she wants on anything in the store... So what I'm understanding is at Walgreens they can do whatever and make up arbitrary rules as they please. Anything goes... Awesome.

If I had the same experience, I'd call corp to ask for the DMs number and find out straight from him/her if that is the district's policy. If he/she tells me YES, then I know not to shop @ any of the store he/she covers. If the DM says NO, then I will ask for something in writing via email so the next time the same MOD tries to harass me, I'll have a 'memo' for her and the other SMs who may have a policy like hers.

I haven't been to Walgreens in a long time. I have several to choose from, but most of the employees seems to dislike couponers. There is a super lady who works at the beauty counter at one of the stores I used to go to, but if she is not working, I can almost count on negativity.

You know I was told very this same story! But....this is right when they were getting those new smart machines....they must have been trained in a certain way to relay this practice...... I haven't visited that wags because of that lame way of using RR's.....so this was about 3 months ago.....since then, I visited them last week, and they are back to the "old" way but with the new registers.....and she said it was just how they were taught....so she apologized for them not knowing what to do.... ....I see others have been in this situation....maybe this is what they were told on how to do these? |

Now when I walk in the store manager or asst manager are hanging nearby when I go to the register. I think they think they are being slick but when the manger is not seen in the store until I near checkout I know why. Funny thing is I used my nice self and never turned on the ***** like I have to do at Wal Mart because I knew I would be going there a lot. |

Now there are a few other cashiers i know who are not the happiest dealing with multiple transactions so I give them a break and dont do it to them often
