Okay..so I wasn't going to shop until tomorrow after getting the paper BUT from LITERALLY out of the blue today my DH says - of all freakin' things - "I need to get some fish oil" - we have NEVER used fish oil before but NOW he wants it...I say OH...no prob - that's great because WG's has a sale that ends TONIGHT for B1G1F!!!! So at 9:20 pm I run up there (they close at 10) - and I grab:

2 Bottles of FISH OIL (B1G1F)
3 Boxes of Curves Granola Bars (3/1.98 - (2) .50 off coups)
2 6.4oz tubes of Aqua-Fresh (.99 each)

Plus I have my $10.00 in RR's I plan to use.

Well the guy says...hmmm...I'm gonna have to do price adjusts on everything..I said..why? are they not ringing up right? And he says "no the sale ended" - I said..no, TODAY is the 18th and look you advertise until the 18th and he said "it ended at 4:00" - I didn't say anything except - oh really, I didn't know that you cut it off early...now I do...sorry and thanks!"

They are so nice to me there..he didn't give me a problem AT ALL...was happy to adjust for me..even offered to go to the back to get tomorrows ad for me..but --insert smack here----I declined.

My question though...they advertise until the 18th...wouldn't that mean ALL day until close on the 18th??? And why on EARTH did they still have THIS weeks ads out at the very front of store by the entrance????

IMO..had he declined me..I would've told him (politely of course) to adjust due to the fact that the ads were still out and it states the 18th with NO cut-off time.
Glad I didn't have to though..I am lucky.

Oh...AND this was first time I had ZERO OOP....used register rewards...total was $9.71 - I told him jokingly "keep the change" and he even laughed.

I love my Walgreens. Today.

That's really odd. I use to be a cashier at Walgreen's and the sale was always good until we locked the door on Saturday night. If customers came in the evening they would even get the following week sale prices as we were hanging tags for Sunday morning shoppers.

See that's the way I thought too. I always see this one manager in there...a lady...I think I will ask her next time I see her...maybe he was just a little misinformed. He was still a sweetheart and helped me BUT I'm confused now as to what time I can shop the sale until. I'll try to update when I find out.

I been in the store when it was getting ready to close and it still rang up the sale price and plus I would get the price on the items that started Sunday as the tags were up and they even rang up in the register. That is strange.

It should still ring up the sale price until the store closes. What his store is NOT doing, is leaving those prices in until 10pm. After having noticed in the past that my Walgreens has the signs already down and the new ones up by early evening....I finally asked my fav clerk what the deal was. Last night, she told me that the new sale prices go through about 4 to 5 pm and they also keep the current sale going. She said this way it is all definitely done by opening on Sunday. I asked..."so! if that's the case...will the catalina's print if you are meant to get a cash back cpn?" She said that she didn't know the answer to that. I didn't want to try either.

So...that's how my Walgreen's does it. That might explain it better. Also, it's great that you can get the next weeks sale prices a day early!

No you will not get the catalina on Saturday even if it rings up the sale price. I have tried and then returned it when it didn't.

Thanks rgyman! I didn't want to try it. Lucky for me there are 2 ladies (who work in cosmetics) that LOVE to check me out and see how much I save. I keep my fingers crossed that they don't quit!
