Was going through my ads & coupons and a couple of items grabbed my attention.

There is a 7day WAGC for BIC Pens for 39 cents. I also have $1.00/2 coupons for these!

Also, there is a 7day WAGC for Wrigleys gum for 59 cents. But there is also an IVC for the same item, $1.00/2. Does anyone know if these can be used together with a MFR? If not, what is the regular price so I'll know the better deal to use with my B1G1F coupons?

I went last night and did the Bic pen deal--bought four of them, and one of my mfr q's went through, the other had to be manually entered, which the cashier did no problem. This morning I went again to get two more and the cashier (different cashier) refused to accept it, saying they can't take a coupon for more than the price of the products. The pens were coming up at 39cents without the store coupon....if they had come up at regular price and then were adjusted with the store coupon, the mfr coupon would have gone through no problem. I think they purposely did this so they wouldn't have to take the coupon, but I could be wrong! Anyway, I just told her I didn't want them then. (no biggie, I have enough pens from last night's deal to last a while!)

Not sure about the gum....my grocery store had BOGO on gum last week (OP 1.99), and I had $1 off coupons for each of them, so I stocked up on FREE gum then!

I bought some of the gum in my purchases yesterday. The first transaction I bought 1 Big Red and 3 Watermelon Extras. All 3 coupons worked, however, it only took off .50 instead of 1.00/2. The second transaction I bought 4 packs of Extra and used the .59 IVC and the B1G1 Manu, but it wouldn't take the Walgreens 1.00/2 coupon. The cashier said it would only work for the "Wrigleys". I explained to her that they all were "Wrigleys", but she said it had to be "not Extra".
