| I'm so upset right now at Walgreens...I don't understand what happened. Here's the 1st order: 2~rice Krispies Treats 2~Yogo's 2~Poptarts 2~Raisin bran Crunch 1~Apple Jacks 1~Frosted Flakes I used : $1.00/2 RB Crunch $1.00/2 Pop Tart $1.00/2 Rice Krispies $1.00/2 Cereal and a $9.00 RR I earned last month. Then I paid and a $5.00 & $1.00 RR printed. So I took my order to the car, and then came back in to do this order: 4~Nutra grain 2~Yogo's 2~Pop tarts 2~Rice Krispies I gave her the following coupons: $1.00/2 Pop Tart $1.00/2 Rice Krispies $1.00/2 NG $1.00/2 NG Then I tried to use the $5.00 RR from the 1st order(remember I left and came back) The register said to many coupons(???). I explained that it should come off. So she voids 2 of my items. I explain that no I need those items on my receipt to send in for a refund. So I said call the manager. Then manager wants to void it also. I said no it should work and showed her the 1st receipt. She says your using to many coupons. I said ok then void the whole thing and give me back my coupons and RR. She kept the one that it generated the 2nd time. So what happened????? Was she suppose to keep the 2nd RR(I saw her fold it and put it into her pocket!)???? Sherry |

| If she kept the one you earned in the first order, it was wrong. If the register generated a second $5 RR and then you and the manager decided to void the order, then yes, she was right not to give you the RR. You only get it if the deal is completed. So, it all depends on which of the $5 RR you are speaking about. |

| Maybe it is that "register logic" they are always talking about here. You need to have one item for every coupon.....and even for the RR. ????? ![]() |

| Hope you don't mind a (very) frequent lurker popping in here! I ran into this problem this week when I went to use my RR's on a small order. The problem you ran into is because on your first order, you had a couple items that you did not have mfr Q's for--that's why your RR's worked for that order. The second order, all of your items were covered by the mfr Q's you used, so you couldn't use any more (RR's are mfr coupons). I believe all you would have had to do was purchase two small filler items (like their 10cent pencils or something), and your RR's would have gone through just fine. Frustrating, I know! In my case, I bought three items, used 2 mfr coupons, and only one of my three RR's went through. The manager agreed to delete the RR that went through, and then hand-key the total in RR's I had as one manufacturer coupon, which was really nice! HTH! |

| K-stone, you are right about her needing filler items to make the match of items and coupons come out right. I was trying to address the fact that once the transaction was nullified, they kept the $5 RR. The question hinges around whether the $5 RR was the one she earned in the first transaction and wanted to use on transaction #2. Or was the $5 RR that they kept the one that was generated by the defunct transaction #2. I am assuming that it was the initial $5 RR they kept and if that is the case they should have returned it to her. If in fact it was the one that transaction #2 generated, they were correct in keeping it. Doesn't life get complicated, though. It's been too hot here for me to try to run around doing any deals the last few days. I got a bit over-heated the first of the week so I've only been going out as was necessary. |

| Ok....but on the 1st order I did have coupons for everything and a $9.00 RR I used to pay. But on the 2nd order I did the same thing except instead of using a $9.00 I used a $5.00 RR ...just doesn't make since to me...So what are the "filler's that are cheap? The 2nd $5.00 RR was the one she kept...but she didn't put it with the receipt in the drawer. I actually saw her put it into her pants pocket....I didn't expect to get it back but was floored she would keep it for herself! Sherry |

.10 pens, mini notebooks, poster paper, rulers, erasers - look for the coupons in the weekly circular i converted 20+ expiring RR's from last week to $80 in gift cards primarily because of the many cheap fillers above - go get em |

| the why of the situation Quote:
Even if she did put it in her pocket to keep for herself, she is morally responsible for her own actions. We are not suppose to look the other way when people sin or do wrong things, but we are not the judgmental police on everything. So, my suggestions is that you not let it stress you out. It is not your worry - unless it impacts you. I hope you day goes better today. And... when playing the coupon and RR game ALWAYS have at least one product more you are buying than coupons, RR, & ECB type items you are cashing in. |

my primary objective was to convert the 40+ RR that were expiring on sunday i bot wag gc so they'll get it back this week they have phone cards at bogo that tempted me but not really useful to me - not sure that all thi school stuff will be either but betterr than all the cans of mandarin oranges or mushrooms that i have just make sure item count = #coupons |

| The reason why is they count the RR as a coupon so with you having a coupo for every product it will not take it. If you had bought in that group a .25¢ pencil then it would have taken it. I had it happen once and now I make sure I have a little something that doesn't have a coupon so it will take it. I am so sorry it happen to you. As you know I love my Walgreen and the time it happen to me the manager came up and knew what happen and told me to buy a pencil and he showed me how it went right threw. Hope that helps. |

| quick question: Does "register logic" think that a coupon for $1.00/2 counts as 2 coupons? Let me explain my order (4) Kelloggs cereals (4) Nutrigrains (2) Poptarts Subtotal before tax: $24.00 Coupons: $1 RR $5 RR $5 RR $6 RR $1.00/2 Nutrigrains $1.00/2 Poptarts $1.00/2 cereals $1.00/2 cereals (would not take this) If all coupons/RR's were scanning happily, this would mean a subtotal of $3.00 before tax. I've had difficulty with RR's working so the manager says they work better to run them first. We ran all the RR's, and all but the last $1.00/2 cereals coupon. When she tried to scan it, it beeped, and it said it exceeded the coupon count. I had it figured out that I had: 10 items 4RR's + 4 MFR's = 8 MFR coupons However, if "register logic",knows that $1.00/2 coupon covers 2 items, then it would mean 4 RR's=4MFR's $1.00/2 Nutrigrains = 2 MFRs $1.00/2 Poptarts = 2 MFR's $1.00/2 cereals = 2 MFR's (for a total of 10 MFR's, and the last one beeped and exceeded my item count) $1.00/2 cereals (would not take this) Hopefully someone knows whether how exactly this works, I need to go back tonight to do 2 more Kelloggs orders and may be sending hubby in cause I got a painful kidney stone trying to pass!! |

"If God be for us, who can be against us." Hang in there folks and seek Him who is the source of all life and offers the best deal there is.... eternal life. |
