With all the problems people are having with Walgreens, I just wanted to tell you about mine. The Glendora, NJ Walgreen is so great - especially the evening and weekend crews. There is an assistant manager there who knows me and loves all I can get with coupons. She is so patient ringing up complicated and multiple transactions, and braggs about my couponing to the other cashiers! She even gets after me if my OOP is higher than a couple of dollars. They have always been very coupon and RR friendly, everything is well stocked, and marked correctly. On the other hand, The Walgreens in Deptford, NJ is a wreck. They never have anything marked correctly, things ring up at the wrong price, and the catalina machine at their main register will go offline for weeks at a time. It once took me more than half an hour just to check out one transaction because so many things rang up incorrectly and the register refused my RRs, and every time there was an issue, the cashier had to call the assistant manager repetedly before she would come out and fix it. I had a problem with my transaction once, and afterwards the store manager called to go over the recipt with me, and I could hear someone else in the background explaining to him how to do it! I feel bad for the polite, proffessional employees I've seen there, since they are trying hard to do their jobs in spite of their managers. I told the manager that I would be taking my buissness elsewere. Okay everybody, who else has a Walgreens that they love?

oh oh me me!! I went to a wags I have never gone to today. I loved it! The RR didn't print for the shower cleaner so he just gave me $10 cash! He apologized and was sooo friendly. I'm really lucky because all my stores are very nice. There is a store right in front of my house and their is one particulair cashier that is so nice she works with me and all my q's. Today I made rounds doing the robitussin and crest deal. Even one cashier, an old man who looked over Each q very closesly, said wow we might have to start paying you to shop here, I said I wish and he said nah you wouldn't want to put us out of business, but I don't think he met it in a bad way, he just was a nice old man. That being said I even sent wags an email right now saying how nice the manager was with the shower cleaner.

I love, love, love my WAGs, they just opened another one not too far away and I only heard later about some great "Grand Opening" deals they had, I'm not too bummed. I love my store. I met with a bit of resistance at first from one asst. manager, but even she's come around. I don't know if it's because of the GLOWING and detailed email I sent about most of the staff, naming names, with no complaints, so maybe she likes me more now? My store doesn't do BOGO Qs on BOGO sales, and corporate hasn't responded to my request for official clarification, but I'm not pushing it in the meantime. I always, always check out in Cosmetics. The pharmacy staff was pretty used to me, as I fill all my scripts there. Except the ones I switched to Rite-Aid for the GCs, but they're going back next month to WAGs. A cashier there introduced me to the Easy Saver Catalog in the first place. I've gotten the best deals, best customer service and most satisfaction from shopping there. In fact, I think I'll write them again! I really do love them.

No favorite stores. It's usually 50/50 whether it will be a good visit or not. I stopped at one on my lunch hour today - not a good visit. They had everything I wanted...except Register Rewards! The machine was not working and I was told to come back tomorrow. There was nothing they could do about it. So I returned everything and will not be back tomorrow! Hopefully the one on my way home will have everything I want (and RR). I still haven't had that really great cashier or manager...yet!

I'm effusive from when I walk in the door, I engage them in conversation, ask for help finding items, double check that the deal I'm planning will work, and they are really eager then to help out. I find that showing them my Qs and the flyer as I look for stuff gets them "on my side" so to speak and they do what they can to honor the deal they've just helped me find.

It probably helps that ours is a small'ish store and I leave them alone when other customers need them, but frequently I'm one of only a handful of customers in the store and they can then well afford for me to monopolize one employee for 20 minutes, off and on, for me to buy anywhere from $20 to $200 worth of stuff. That and they have ALL my prescription business {aside from the aforementioned transferred stuff that's going back} and that alone is about $1,000 a month coming from my insurance and my co-pays.

I love my WAGs (as long as I stay away from the photo counter! :-) LOL Very coupon friendly, especially my favorite cashier who loves it when I bring her extra coupons so she can do the deals. As she says, "I like to save money too!" LOL

I'm new at using coupons, and tonight I went to a different Walgreens from the one that's right down the street. This one was a few miles down the road, but I had already cleaned the other one out of the Chex Mix, so I wanted to clean out the next one! I get confused about the ad coupons and the booklet coupons and the mfg coupons (like for the Dove chocolate bars), so I went up to the lady at the cosmetics counter, and just said, "Can you show me what I can use and what goes together?" And she was SO NICE. She said, "Yep, yep, yep, you can use all of those." And one wouldn't ring up and it BEEPED, and BEEPED, and BEEPED, and she said, "There's more than one way to skin a cat" and proceeded to put it in manually. She said she uses coupons, and she always knows what goes together. I'm going out of my way from now on to THAT Walgreens instead of the one near my house. What a wonderful experience!! (And my two bags of stuff only cost $1.37)

That's awesome! Sometimes you don't get nice employees. I remember working there. Some customers were SO mean!! Which of course gave me a nasty attitude. Share what you bought!! I want to know what good deals you got!!

See, I really do think that walking right up to an employee and saying "I need your help doing this right" shows them that you're all about doing things the legit way and gets them personally invested in making sure your trip is satisfactory. Hey, I'ma go off topic! Surprise! Years ago when I worked retail at a well known clothing store I waited on MANY people, obviously, but I had my "regular" customers. A little old guy that came in every week and got himself SOMETHING. A new tie, socks, shirt, pants, whatever. Each week he treated himself to ONE new thing. Man he was a kick. But Friday nights were "special". I became the go-to girl for the local Frat boys...and no, not in that way. I was 19, curly blonde hair to my waist and blue eyes, but already mothering them. Whenever one of the younger guys had a "hot date" they'd bring him to me and I'd pick out his outfit. Most weekends I got to "dress" several guys. I told them what to buy, what size to get, and passed out a few tips on how to treat the date while I was at it. Previously the college guys had come in, tried on a TON of stuff, left clothing all over the dressing rooms, they were always eyed suspiciously, it seemed impossible to the older employees that they'd try so much on and buy so little. They'd also wind up returning stuff, since they didn't know {poor things were too far from Mom} what sizes to buy themselves. I wound up being scheduled for Friday nights from there on out, as the guys would panic if I wasn't there. I see a parallel in how we coupon'ers are viewed, with suspicion, in how other employees were eye'ing the college guys. I got some grief at first, accused of "flirting" or being naive and not realizing "what they were up to", until the manager heard about it from our security guy who'd realized long ago he didn't need to watch them, but was always called to our dept in Mens when they came in, I had my own "clientele" and they spent more than anyone else in the store did those nights. Kinda like how spend so much with the MQs in WAGs.

let me start out saying i have 2 stores in my town. the 1st on i frequently shop at is very nice and i have no problems at all and usually have what im looking for, when i have a problem with the machine they will take it to another one and rering and out pops my rr's and this is with the manager, go wags at this one yay, but their machine has been out for a month and waiting for the company to come and fix it, hurry up i love this store the 2nd one give me problems with my q's when this certain manager is working, i dont know her schedule, but i hate to shop when shes there thou, anyway i have had so many problems with them/her for instance when we had the last 5/20 i couldnt use my it with my rr, wth, i had to choose which one i wanted to use i was like huh, another time i had a few coupons to use and the register didnt take it for some reason, and the manager told me that she couldnt do anything about it and wouldnt let me return my items, only if i subtract the coupons that i used, i was like what? so i try my best to avoid that store in all now but its the one that usually has everything i need.

I just had to add what a great cashier I had today. I've been in there before and with my boys ages 2&1 I'm pretty sure I must be easy to recognize, but I did 2 transactions. First one I ended up paying $.88! So the second one she said it's amazing how much I save and asked if I ever try to keep track of how much i save. So the second transaction she wrote the first total down, than so on after so many Q's she'd scanned. She congratulated me again for how much I saved and everything went well. When I got to the car I'd realized I forgot to give one of the visine coupons, but she was so nice I just didn't want to go back inside. I still walked out with $7 more in RR than I pd. I love my stores!
