I was at Walgreens today and wanted to do the buy $`10 get 5 rr back on buying rice krispies. My son loves these. Well they were all outdated food for July 8 2008. Why doesnt these stores watch the food expiration dates. Soon they are going to be in trouble like CVS was. Is there someone high up that might want to know about this? I am sick of trying to get a deal but their food is always bad.

I actually ventured in to the Walgreens to get some of the $.09 school coupon items because I knew the manager from he** would be working and it just kills her knowing I'll only buy the loss leaders at her store. I also checked out the Special K Bars and thought I'd pick some up since the extra RR would really get the manager's knickers in a twist.

Wouldn't you know it, the manager left the cashier area before I could check out and when I got home, I checked out the expiration date & they were all July 09 2008.

I'm taking the food back tomorrow. There's no excuse for them selling the expired items. They can exchange the items for non-expired ones on the spot or refund my money since it's an additional trip back to the store for me. If they argue, I'll just contact corporate and let corporate sort it out.

I have gotten very good at checking X dates there, ! The cheese-its we got today were pretty close to expiring - 6 weeks or so - but I got them anyways. It won't be a problem for us to eat them by then.

I checked all the Pop Tarts, Nutra Bars and Rice Krispie Treats all Feb 09 or Later. So I stocked up on them. I got 20 boxes bars and 10 PopTarts and 60.00 in RR. I got 5 PopTarts at another store and they kept the Xtra 5.00RR and ripped it up in front of me and tossed in the waste basket. Said it was a mistake
Oh well I got 2 5.00RR on the other items

Thanks for the reminder... Going to head out when DH gets home to see what we can find and hoping to get a few extra RRs as well,
