Why didn't this work as planned?

I purchased:
Bic Soleil Razors 6.99 (not on clearance as mentioned in another thread)
Pantene shampoo 1.29
Pantene conditioner 1.29
Royal Pudding (filler) 0.39

I wanted to use:
$2Q Bic Soleil Razor
$1/2 Pantene Shampoo
$2.50 RR
$2.50 RR

It wouldn't take my second RR.

I had 4 items and 4 coupons!! The total purchase price (not including tax) was higher than the coupons/RR.

I added a 0.99 cookie at the register and the second RR took.

I received $3RR from Bic and $2RR from P&G. Ended up paying 2.95 + tax.

Any ideas?

Because the $1/2 pantene was attached to 2 items instead of 1. Hope that helps

you have 4 items and 4 coupons. you need 5 items. you have to have atleast 1 more items that you do coupons. hth.

You had the right amount of items/Qs. Always remember Racie Mae West (RRs, MQs, Wags) in that order. Then with your MQs: /1, BOGO, then /2 or /3. That way they'll only attach to 1 item instead of 2 or 3. Plus then the Wags Qs won't take up one of your items.

In this case I usually always try to find a cheap filler, just in case. Ive tried to hand them in order of RR,MQ,WQ but they usually tell me I cant do that. So to avoid this problem if I have a $ off 2 or 3 items get that total of item. I hoped this helped and didnt confuse anybody.

In my experience with the $3/2 Theraflu and $1/2 Pantene,

as long as I give it last before any WAGc, it attaches to only 1 item. I give all RRs first and no need for fillers but I make sure I don't get into negative subtotal. try that next time and give x/2 or x/3 MQs last to see if it works for you, too.

If you had put the $1/2 Pantene Q last, then it would've worked for you. Because you handed it in before the RRs, it attached to both since both pantene items were still available. Next time save the /2 Qs for last -- just before wags qs.

I guess I didn't realize I needed to hand them one by one in a certain order.

Thanks everyone, I'll try to remember that. What do you do when the cashier asks for your coupons when you are trying to hand her the RRs first?
