I found some clearanced lined baskets at Wags today. They were normally $7 marked down to $1.79. It was a set of two basic whicker with beige liners. These will be great to put all our goodies in. I am hoping to hit some other Wags tonight and find more.

ok, I went and did a few more stores and scored the lined wicker laundry baskets for the $1.79 as well. If you are doing gift baskets these will work so good. I just made up a nice large sized one with all the white cotton Glade sets I have been picking up. Oh and did the black and decker coffee makers and blenders too. Additionally I splurged on a Kodak easy share for mom for xmas.

Thank-you!! I also had a bridal shower this weekend but forgot to take a pic...it was a hawaiian theme shower...colors orange and brown so I lined the basket with brown hand towels, wrapped an orange and yellow lei around the handle of basket and filled it with the Febreeze Noticeables orange box (hawaiian breeze scent) orange and white bottle of self tanning lotion from bath and body, orange body wash, and temptations body spray, and shampoo/conditioner from bath and body also...then sprinkled the caramel hershey kisses throughout the basket (the wrapper is orange and brown) it looked really cute!!

I try to pick up like new baskets at rummage sales but does anyone have any ideas on where to find containers to make gift baskets out of?

Last Christmas I got baskets at the local resale store. They averaged @ $1 each, and some of them were really nice. I got a 3-tier hanging basket, a wastebasket, and some others. I also used a mini backpack and large flowery bag for gift containers. They were both like new and from the resale store.

My niece still carries the mini backpack for her purse!

Added later: I lined some of the baskets with tee or sweat shirts. I picked them up on clearance through the year, dirt cheap only.

Unless you are stuck on having the "basket" presentation look- I found the reuseable bags at Old Navy up by the register- they do NOT say Old Navy on them, and are a pretty dark blue and purple and I think they say Hope and Faith. They are big and only $1! You could use tissue paper to make it more gift bag like and/or wrap things up. I like this idea because a lot of people don't have room for another basket (me included ) and you don't spend the money on the plastic to wrap the basket, the ribbon etc. Plus they can reuse them! Might not work for older folks on your list, but neices and nephews and such- works great!!!
