Can Someone Explain the Test Market Rewards Card Deal???

With so much talk going on about the changes that might be coming to Walgreen's, and/or the implementation of the Rewards card going systemwide, I thought this might be a good topic to help us who are not familiar with this program, better understand how it works.

A few questions I have....

Is the Rewards card pretty much just like the printed RR only you get the points on your card which then translate into cash?

If so, is the cash you receive for the points pretty similar to what they currently give on the printed RR?

Since all of this is "tracked" by the use of a card, do they limit the number of each deal you can get?

Do you still get RR's that are actually "Catalina deals"?

Thanks for any help you can give.

I'm in the Kansas city area and we are part of the test market. You earn 10 points for every dollar you spend.

There are still RR deals and you need to use your card to get them. It isn't like CVS. You just have to do separate transactions.
For many deals where others are lucky enough to get RR we get points but they are not as much as you get for the RR. Example for the GUM deal non test market had a 2 RR making it free. Test market got points in the amount of 1.50

The points get added to the card (it takes a few days). You can use the points to print RR or get gift cards to different retainers. 2000 points = 5 RR

There are some products that give bonus points depending on the sale. It is frustrating that the points you get are after coupons. So if before your purchase the total is 10 dollars and after coupons it is 3 dollars you only get points for your 3 dollar purchase

I hope this helps. I don't mind the card but I don't like the fact that we get less value when they calculate points than non test market gets from RR

I agree Kelli....we're building a fairly big stockpile of Health, toiletries, cleaning, etc. from Wags while we can. Maybe more than normal, since it looks like the day may be coming where you might be able to get a good deal, but it will just be 1 of something.

Around here Wags seems to be the place to go to stock up on these types of items.
