Update WAGS newbie, Dentek/Vaseline cats didn't print

I was so excited to shop at Walgreens for the first time this week with a plan in hand, but I ended up leaving a little stressed out and without RRs.

For my first transaction, I purchased a Gillette Fusion razor for $8.99 - $4 coupon = $5.44 including tax. I received a $6 RR.

My second transaction, I got a Vaseline Sheer Infusion, Dentek Floss Picks, Halls Refresh and a .29 Hershey bar. I used a $1.50 MQ for the Vaseline, $1 MQ for the Dentek, $.75 MQ for the Halls, and the $6 RR from the previous transaction.

The only RR that printed was the Halls. I went to the manager and told her that I should have gotten a $2 RR for the Dentek. She went to the aisle and checked the tag (it said there'd be an RR), tried scanning another one and it didn't print, so she apologized nicely and handed me back $2.

About the Vaseline - there wasn't a tag underneath the product that said that it was a RR deal. I just assumed that it would print, but it didn't. With the Dentek deal, the manager said "if there's a RR it would be in the ad." I told her that it wasn't in the ad but on the hangtag (sure enough, it was.) I didn't want to bother arguing over the Vaseline deal since there wasn't even a hangtag on that, and I thought to myself that maybe I was mistaken. I checked the monthly RR list on AFC, and lo and behold, it's on the list.

Did I do something wrong? Should I go back and try to get the catalina from them or just return it? If I do return it, would I get a full refund back for the $6.99 (I used coupons and an RR to pay for it, so my actual OOP was only $2.)

Update: I called the catalina company and the representative was very helpful. He said the reason why the RR didn't generate was because the Vaseline scanned as a credit (don't know how that happened exactly, but whatever.) The RR will be mailed to me; he said it could take three to four months (!!)

If your RR didn't print, definitely call but be patient. The first time I called, the office was closed. The second time, I was put on hold for 10 minutes. Be sure to have your receipt ready because you'll have to give a bunch of information off it.

I have a similar situation with an RR not printing. I've been reading on here that you can call the catalina company and they'll send it to you. I tried that today, but was on hold forever so I hung up. Maybe there's a better time to call, but I'm going to try again. I didn't get the RR for the Dentek. I'm not sure if the individual stores do something in the computer so they don't print after the advertised sale or what. I'm going to write to corporate because it's a pain in the butt to know about these monthly deals but the stores don't and then it's your word against theirs as to the RRs printing. It's such a hassle. Here's the number to the catalina company. Maybe try calling in the early morning when they're not too busy. 1-888-322-3814. Ask for customer service, then hit option 3.

I did end up calling the cat company the next day and they are sending it to me. The rep said that it could take up to 12 weeks, but he assured me that it shouldn't actually take that long. I think I called around 3pm, was on hold for about 10 minutes - I put my cell phone on speaker and let it sit on the desk during that time so I didn't have to hold it to my ear.

I agree completely about the RR issue. It was my first time shopping at Walgreens ever, and I left thinking it might be too much of a hassle to deal with them as often as I do with CVS or Rite Aid. I don't want to have to constantly call the cat company (whoa, alliteration) and wait weeks, possibly months to get my money back.

doesn't sound like you did anything wrong, but this has been a bad week for the cat machines...no explanation why they are not printing 'sometimes'

if they don't print for me, I try to get some resolution before I leave the store, either refund the items and get my Qs/RRs back or get my RRs that were supposed to print on GC

Question rr not printing

today coupon in hand i went to wags for the vaseline deal. no hang tag so i asked the cosmetic clerk and she said that was just a rr for last week only. i am also confused. maybe some states don't have monthly rr's. i'm in north central california. how does wags advertise monthly rr deals anyway? don't give up, just be very observant and ask questions at the store. my stores are usually helpful and even point out coupons i miss!

The Dentek is now only printing a RR on the floss roll. I read this in another thread here on AFC. The Vaseline Refresh I would take back and get a refund. My first mistakes usually involved me picking up the wrong item, size, or quanity. You did a great job with your first transaction and you did nothing wrong.

The monthly RR tags at my Walgreens disappeared about a week ago. The managers claim that they have no information about the monthly RRs and have no list from corporate available.
They usually sell out on the first day of the sale...I could go on and on about the gotchas and tricks they play and how they act clueless. Tomorrow I'm going to see if a few of the unmarked monthly RR deals will work because a few have been restocked sans tags. Also, I have learned not to use a RR to pay for any items that should generate a RR. Instead I'll buy milk or something else I need.

I bought the Vaseline lotion today, and my RR printed out just fine. There wasn't a hangtag, so I was a bit curious, especially since there was a full shelf of them! I know that you can't pay for an item with a RR for that item, and still receive another one. Like, you can't buy a Fusion, get the RR and then buy another Fusion with it and still receive a new RR. But today I used two RRs I had gotten yesterday for other items, and then received my $7 RR.

I got the Vaseline RR just yesterday. Make sure you're getting the smaller bottle, and not the pump one. The pump one doesn't qualify. On the RR hangtags, it usually states the time frame the RR is available. In my store, the RR hangtag is still up. I'd return it if you can't get it resolved. I've been lucky so far, and haven't had any problems w/any RRs printing.

Actually, when I talked to the catalina rep, he told me that the Vaseline scanned as a credit (no idea why), so that's why it didn't print out the RR. They're mailing it to me so the issue is resolved now, but I'm just irritated that I had to jump through a couple of hoops for that.

Yes, I was aware that it was the small $6.99 bottle that generated the $6.99 RR. However, there were no shelf hangtags that indicated that there was even an RR associated with it - I just knew that it was a monthly deal from the old ad + confirmed info here on AFC.

When I informed the manager that the Dentek cat didn't print, she told me, "It should be in the ad." She proceeded to leaf through the current ad - which, of course, it wasn't in. I then told her that the hangtag said it was valid through October, so she went to the aisle to check, and it wasn't until after all of that I was refunded $2.

I called the catalina company and the rep told me the Vaseline scanned as a credit, so that's why the RR didn't generate. So they're going to send it to me, which is fine, but it could take up to four months (not kidding) and I could have done without the hassle in the store and the time it took to call.

I hope I am as lucky to have all my RRs print in the future! Knowing my luck it just had to happen this way the first time.

wags rr not printing

this am i received a reply from wags corporate stating they only honor rr deals as advertised in the "weekly ads" i specifically asked them in an email i sent last night if they have Monthly RR'S and today I received the above evasive reply. I sent another email asking them to state either yes or no about monthly rr's. will see if they respond.

i find each wags in my town has a totally different take on their sales and rr's. The managers are very knowledgable but alot of the clerks have no clue about sales or rr's.

These monthly deals are so annoying. I'm going to try to get 2 Vaseline lotions today because I want to roll them into the Huggies deal. We'll see if they print. It's so annoying because 1. you have to see if the store has what you want 2. you have to check if that stupid green light is on on the catalina machine 3. your nervous as heck because the RR still might not print even when you know it should!

I really need to jump over to CVS, but their deals have sucked for the past few months.

Same at my walgreens; I asked if the Vaseline still printed RRs; she said no. So, I didn't buy it. The chapstick, EmergenC, Dentek, and Halls still had their red hangtags though and were still printing the RRs.

I just called 888-826-8766 a few minutes ago and someone answered immediately! He was able to take care of my missing vaseline RR and said it will be mailed to me. It may take 8 to 12 weeks though.

Even 8-12 weeks isn't a reasonable time to wait for your Vaseline RR in these days of fast
technologies. They could email you a personalized RR coupon for example.
