| Has anyone tried ink cartridge refills?
I need to buy a black ink cartridge or refill the one that I already have. Has anyone tried refilling ink cartridges at Walgreens? Was it successful? Were there any problems? My husband is trying to get me to buy a new cartridge but I'm trying to save $10 buy getting a refill...... |

I've had my black cartridge refilled twice at WAGS and my color one refilled once. I've had good luck with them. Also, on the first refill boxes were Q's for 50% off the next refill.

I have had very mixed success, more often with it not working. They are good about giving you a refund if there are any problems though.

I've only done it once with both color and black. The only problem I have is that my PC pops up that my ink is low when it is not, started as soon as I put the refilled catridges in the printer, kind of a pain to click it through but it only cost me 26.00 to refill both as opppsed to 26.00 plus for each one. There is a Wags Q in this weeks ad for 10.00 refills, instead of 13.00.

i tried it at my walgreens and yes it work, my color cartridge filled with ink but did not pass their specification test so i got to keep my cartridge (w/color ink) but they did not charge me, that was pretty cool.

You can buy they kit for 9.99 at Wal-Mart & DIY. You can get 3-4 refills from one kit.

I also have had problems with ink refills -- the main problem (similar to above) is starting with my first print of my refilled cartridge, I receive a pop-up message that my ink is low when it is not. Can be a hassle to click through the message each time I am printing.

I just tried the HP74XL (BLACK) AND THE HP75XL (COLOR). The black worked fine, but the color did not. When I went back with it to tell them, I brought a second empty color just to try again. The color refill did not work a second time. I had to go buy one at $40 since I was out and did not have time to await mail order. At least the black refill worked. Best of course not to get too low.

They were able to do the black, which works great . Color had a technical difficulty. It the ink machine that usually detects if it is refillable or not. In my opinion if they are able to fill it then it works well. Good luck. So much cheaper than buying a new one.

You're lucky if your machine lets you refill your cartridges. The HP manufacturer does not recommend refilling its cartridges because you could damage your printer (leaks or whatever). Though it would be nice not to have to pay 25 dollars per each cartridge only to have them get used up in maybe 1 month. Lately my HP cartridges have been used up really fast. Anyone know if wags has a list of the cartridges that its machine can refill successfully?

I have Lexmark and it won't accept the refills at all.
