I just figured this out. It might be old news, but I thought it might be helpful to some others, Especially if you are looking for some of the hot items.

If you go to the Walgreens website, search for "sense and spray" or whatever item you want. Then click "check my store". You will put your zip code in and it will bring up all of the local walgreens and if it is in stock or not.

Obviously, this does not tell how many are in stock, and it could sell before you get there, but it is at least helpful in telling you which stores NOT to go to if you are in search of something special.

This is very helpful for trying to track down the Dove, Sambucol, Glade, etc.

Thanks for posting, this is a very useful tool.
If its a hard to find item, though, it might not be completely accurate. It said my local store had those auto impressions air fresheners a couple months ago, I had looked three times in store for them, before searching to see where the nearest store to me had them. It said my local store had one scent in stock. I went in, searched, asked the manager for help, we both searched. Two managers looked, both said they had never seen them in the store, and they had no idea why the website would say they did.
I hadn't thought about searching again for the sambucol, I will give it a try! thanks!

I agree, accuracy of an In Stock item might be hard especially because you don't know if they have 1 or 10 of the item. I guess to me it is more helpful to know which stores do NOT have an item, so I don't bother going there at all.

Thanks for the info!!! It's awful funny how it shows the dove beauty bar soap instock at both of the stores I visited today and there were none on the shelf but the glade sense and sprays show out of stock and they actually were gone!!!! Hmmmm I think they are hiding those from me!!!!!

I've used this before, if I really don't feel like risking it not really being there I just call the store before I head out. A few times the item has actually been there, other times nope. I don't know how often they update the #'s in the system. KWIM?

I'm confused. I just tried it and all it did was bring a list of stores up. When I selected one it just told me to contact the store.

That's what they call it at Target and yes you can search other stores their backroom locations. We usually call ahead to verify that the item is truly instock before we send a guest to that store. It usually takes the system 24 to 48 hours to update itself, it might be showing what we had on the shelf this morning or even yesterday morning, but could have been sold since then. I the team member goes to a register to look up an item they can teel what store has them, how many they have and what's the closest astore, along with distance and phone numbers. I always call ahead for the guest to keep them from making a blind trip. Sometimes when you locate the items a team member from the other can hold the item for the guest with just your name. HTH

You can ask the manager at your store to check the system to see how many it shows on hand. They can even check the local stores and their quantities.

......also..... more and more people are couponing and it is going to take stores a little while to adjust inventories to keep up. Managers can increase their order on items, but they are still at the mercy of the warehouse. I know I always tell my DH which items are hot for the next week so he orders more of those. I know he got more Huggies in per my request, but the Glade and Dove didn't show up on the truck.
