We just got a T. J. and I went to the Grand opening today. Madhouse. I only got a few things and will go back when it's not so crowded. I was amazed at the price of some of the produce - cheaper than my regular grocery store. Thank you everyone for posting your favorites. I will definitely try the orange chicken (would have gotten some today-it looked good and good price, but my freezer is full). DH loves ginger cookies so I will be looking for those as well. So many things I want to try but am so spoiled by couponing that it's hard to just buy what you want without coupons - but some of the prices are very good at TJ's - I definitely need some time to browse when it's not crowded. Hard to wrap my mind around not getting bogo with coupons sales. |

My family loves Trader Joe's products a bit too much - I finally had to say we can't set foot in the store until our grocery budget is back under control! But I love all the frozen vegetables - the organic frozen broccoli is EXCELLENT. I also love the refrigerated kimchi (it's vegetarian!), the corn tortillas, the frozen thom yam soup, the "reduced guilt" frozen mac and cheese, the inexpensive spices, the coffee (my daughter's PT is in love with one of the winter blends so every single year I buy her a few cans), the cheese... I pretty much love everything - which is sometimes a problem!

Trader joes fan
Many years ago as a teen when I would vacation in california with my best friend we'd go to trader joes because we didn't have the store where we lived. It seemed so cool and alternative. I remember getting nuts like cashews n stuff.

This is a pretty huge thread, so I apoligize if I'm repeating items already mentioned (don't have time to read through the entire thread). Semi-sweet chocolate morsels (choc chips) - TJ's are about the richest, chocolatyest chips you'll ever find! and at 1.99, they're cheaper than top grocery store brands Marinara spaghetti sauce in the small jars - why bother to make homemade when TJ's is this good? Frozen artichoke hearts - perfect for casseroles roasted, unsalted almonds without any added oils organic ketchup - no high fructose corn syrup, only $1.99 (have you seen the prices in Whole Foods, etc?) Greeting cards - where else, other than Dollar General, can one purchase a decent birthday card for under $1? crumpets - perfect to serve with tea while watching Downton Abbey on a Sunday evening. ![]() reduced fat smoked gouda - all the flavor without all the fat (and guilt, ![]() Fresh baby spinach - organic, and lasts longer in my refirgerator than the non-organic Dole brand from the supermarket chain reduced sugar preserves - strawberry or raspberry turkey burgers - even my cranky dad likes them (didn't complain it wasn't beef!) |

Frozen Indian entrees are all very good. Ice cream & cheesecake, frozen, both good. Cheeses and dairy products of good quality and less expensive than most chain stores. Coffee filters a good value. Nuts competitively priced. Breads are good, as are the tortillas. Tortilla chips are good & competitively priced. Eggs also a good deal. I second the frozen turkey burgers.
