I guess this is part rant and part question. This past Friday went to the Tops on Niagara Falls Blvd., to do some stocking up. I had a tonne of coupons and did multiple transactions at the self serve before taking the bulk of my purchases through a regular checkout. After the first 2 mini transactions of which I received 10 Monopoly pieces each time, the manager/supervisor (with whom I have dealt with many, MANY times) approached me and said she couldn't continue to give me 10 pieces for every transaction. Since I had 3 more mini transactions to do and very little time, I decided not to argue. BUT, at the end of checking out with the regular cashier, I didn't receive any pieces. When I asked why, the cashier told me the manager/supervisor had approached her and told her not to give me any! I found that rather embarrassing but didn't give the cashier any grief because it wasn't her fault. Has anyone else had this issue? I have contacted head office about it because the more I thought about it the more angry I got. I purchased the necessary items, I spent the money, just because I did it in a smart and money conscious way, why should I be penalized? If I had done it all in 1 transaction I would have earned them all anyway. I would have spent more granted, but I still would have been owed them. Thoughts?

Oh my goodness! I'm so sorry they gave you a hard time, but I did just check the rules on the Tops website, and it does say, "Eligible Customers are limited to one Qualifying Transaction per six-hour period." I had no idea. Guess I will have to plan my trip accordingly. |

| OMGoodness! Soooo - wouldn't you get the same number of Tkts even if you put them all on the same order? Minus the one extra Tkt you would get on the other receipts just for the transaction? Good Lord some folks have too much time on their hands. Seriously? Would you sit there and cash out every item on a separate receipt for a Monopoly Ticket???? OY VE!

Never had that problem actually, just the issue with the Spanish coupons. For some reason they try to not let those through but they allow me to claim all my pieces even after 5 separate transactions. Sorry to hear you had a problem

I haven't had THAT issue...the only one I've had with Monopoly pieces is not getting them at all if I send my husband to do a shop. They must assume that because he's a guy, he doesn't care about the game . It's annoying..but I just bring my receipt back in with me the next time I go and they usually just give them to me. Sorry you're having an issue..hopefully it all gets cleared up and you get your pieces! |
