| Muir Glen
Recently Albertsons had Muir Glen tomatoes on sale for 10/1. There was a $1/1 coupon in PDF form that me and two of my friends used. We had to prepay for the tomoatoes as they were out of them and we are still waiting for them to come in. Recently I spoke to the manager about the coupon as he was told by someone it was a fraudulent coupon. I told him as far as I knew it was not and it scanned ok. However, to be sure I do not want this order if they were. So I sent him a link to the coupon as well as sent Muir Glen an inquiry. He also contacted Muir GLen and neither of us heard back from them. The tomatoes are expected within the next few days and I want to make sure the coupon was legit. Please has anyone heard of any problems surrounding this coupon?

Where was the pdf generated from? In other words, was it on the Muir Glen website directly or through another avenue? I've come to find that *most of the time, companies don't make their coupons available on pdf. because they can't control the consumer printing and usage. So if I find coupons on pdf. I am generally very careful about how many I use. However, I have seen companies do it and not care! If you don't hear back from them, can you call their customer service number? |

I had a problem where I found a pdf on this website and took it to albertsons and they said it was fradulent. If you need some good ones... Go to bettycrocker.com or eatbetteramerica.com (General Mills Website) and they have some there.

If it's the muir glen pdf file I saw, it expired 9/30/08... so just a tip to make sure the date on the ones you have aren't expired.

It is the one that expired on 9/30 I used it before the expiration date and Albies is having a hard time getting the product in that has already been paid for. I bought two cases but there were a lot paid for in advance besides mine. We are just trying to be sure it was legit. If it scanned is that a clue it is ok? Or can bad ones scan sometimes too?

Bad ones can scan too and good ones sometimes won't scan, so that's not an indicator. As far as legit, I'm not sure where the coupon came from to begin with so I can't say yes or no on that one. I found the link to it here on AFC in the printable coupons forum. With that said, I used it at Walmart without any problems other than the price of the Muir Glen rang up more than the shelf price and I had to go to CS. |

I printed $1/1 Muir Glen coupons from either smartsource or couponbug. As far as I know, these types of sources are fine because the number you can print is usually limited.

Can you check the "veri-fi" on the coupon to see what the actual price on the coupon is for? That is probably the best way to figure it out.

My coupon group also ordered from Albertson's, and were waiting to find out if they were legit. (we didn't want Albertson's to take a loss for OUR mistake). We ordered several cases (all on one ticket, as a group). Considering the fact that there are a few other LARGER coupon groups in the area I can only ESTIMATE the quantity ordered at probably around 1,000 cans, give or take, and this does not take into consideration the cans that were purchased off the shelves. I have talked to a few members of one of the other groups, and I know one person ordered 100 + for herself, and others of her group ordered 25-50 each. This is only from one group. There is another, much larger group in the area. When I visit Albertson's I ask each visit if they found out yet, they say NO, I say we'll wait to get ours until there's a definite answer. (Most of the cans have already been picked up.) Well.........today I received an answer: THEY ARE NOT GOOD!!! Albertson's will NOT get reimbursed. Needless to say, I cancelled the order for my group! They can re-sell ours & try to re-coup some of their losses. I am heartbroken that so many cans were already picked up. Albertson's took a big hit in the pocket with this one. Coupon shopping is a privledge, not a right. I know Albertson's realises NONE of the people ordering the Muir Glen knew they were not good-we've all been shopping there for years, and are good customers, ALL GROUPS INCLUDED! I just wish there was some way for us to help them get their $ back. They are so good to coupon shoppers, welcoming & smiling. Their acceptance of coupons is a privlege, not a right. Needless to say: MY GROUP WILL NO LONGER USE A PDF unless we thouroughly investigate first. ANY IDEAS OF HOW WE CAN HELP?

I don't know how realistic this would be, but could everyone collect all of their legit Glen Muir Q's and drop off to the store? Could they submit them this way to try to cover some of the $'s they are losing? Just a thought.

The Muir Glen coupon came from youandyourfamily.com and the coupon is still listed on their website even though it is expired. If you printed it directly from the original website then it should be good. I think you should contact Muir Glen directly and find out why they are not good. And they are on the original website as a PDF. Take care, Tami |

That's what my group was thinking. There were .75 & $1.00 coupons in the last two week's papers. If EVERYONE got them together (there are carriers here who give their leftover inserts to the groups), and IF we each printed 2, and IF we each 'obtained' a set fro e-bay, that MIGHT cover them. It just feels wrong to me that Albertson's is taking such a hit. The 'loss' gets spread over the district, not just our local Albertson's. The thing is, I'm not sure if the other groups will go to those lengths. I think the origional Muir Glen coupon only lets you print 2, but, add to that any from the paper & e-bay, and it all adds up. Our Albertson's people were so understanding about the whole thing. They know that none of the groups would intentionally do something like this. I am concerned, however, about the number of PDF's showing up lately. Now, I'm nervous. I think I'm going to e-mail some of the manu's. & ask permission first. Better safe than sorry, right. I did attempt to contact muir glenn directly and recieved no answer. I waited until the manager told me he was satisfied everything was fine before I picked up my order. I was informed that the only reason the coupon was ever questioned was because a gal form THAT group said it was. This is exactly how he put it. Quote:

I received a letter from Muir Glen stating that as long as the coupons scan (which they did), they would honor them. I'm going to go to Albertson's this weekend & talk with the store manager myself. I want to get to the bottom of this, it's getting too complicated. I talked with rempel8838 this evening, and she was told yet something different than I was. I think from now on, I'll just go to the store manager when I have any questions. At least then I'm only dealing with ONE person. I do feel better, though, knowing that another group leader was told to 'go ahead-it's ok', and that Muig Glen WILL honor the PDF's. Thanks for all the help trying to figure this out-I appreciate it.
