that some of the best deals I have ever gotten were beacuse I was willing to take a chance on a long shot.

For example In Jan I paid $150 for a $600 laptop. The one I use everyday to visit AFC. Sounds to good to be true right. Had I not driven to Best Buy to check it out myself, I probably would not have believed it

Don't be afraid to take a risk to get a good deal. The answer will always be no if you don't ask. The answer may be no 90% of the time. But, then there is the other 10% of the time when you get a deal so good it may never be repeated.

So, I guess what I wnat to get across is

DO NOT BE AFRAID because a deal looks too good to try it.

Great thinking Tricia! Like you and twinkie said...the worst you can get is a No.

I got one of my dogs that way, and I wouldn't trade her for anything! The ad in the paper was about 1/3 of what a breeder normally charges so I almost didnt call. Figured it was a typo. I took the plunge and indeed the cost was right, the guy was working and putting himself through college. He was a hobby breeder, and loves those dogs so much he cried when I took her home. That was 11 years ago, and I'd say that was the best deal of my life. The second best deal was when I saw another ad in the paper two years later (Fate) and I went and picked up her brother (same parents!)...and yes, the guy cried when I took him too!

I tried out one of those deals where you complete offers to get something great for free. Well it worked for me. I was in need of a Juki sewing machine for the Gracie Quilting frame I just purchased but didn't have $1000 to spend on one. I completed my offers and my hubby thought I was crazy. But I had my Juki after about a month after I started my offers I love this machine!!!

If I had not filled out a form offering a free 2GB high speed flash drive, something I would have never bought for myself, I would not have had one for my son to use at 1 am. When he woke up and forgot he had a project due today at school.

He was able to do what he needed online save it to that flash drive and take his homework to school today.

A few years ago I got a free ipod and a free coach purse doing those complete 3 offers and refer 5 friends deals. My husband kept telling me I'd get scammed, but I really got the items. You have to be careful, but sometimes you have to take a chance too!

We all know that deals come along all the time that most people would consider "too good to be true." So don't feel like we are frowning on awesome deals here, that's obviously against what AFC is all about. However, this forum on AFC was created specifically for coupons that you see circulating that may seem too good to be true. Those are the things you *really* need to be mindful of as an honest couponer. It is so unlikely that a printable coupon would exist for a free product and with a long expiration date. If you see something like that, well, it probably IS too good to be true. We hope that you will check this forum when you see something like that and get the answer you need.
