I am going to buy a netbook computer. want to know if anyone can give me advice on this~ what to buy what to avoid and that sort of thing! Please help, want to spend my money well.

I just bought this Netbook a couple of months ago and LOVE it : Amazon.com: Acer Aspire One AOD150-1165 10.1-Inch Sapphire Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery: Computers & PC Hardware .
The only thing I don't love about it is the webcam, which is really poor quality, so if webcam isn't important to you, but having an OVER SIX HOUR battery life, nice 10.1" screen, nice size keyboard and NOT having to deal with VISTA issues (this runs on XP) THIS is the Netbook for you. :-)

bump....and looking for advice on a device to use a netbook when traveling for pay as you go internet service with a card or device to plug in to the computer....

I found Verizon Wireless sells one for about $ 30, however you have to sign a 2 year contract and the cost is around $ 50 a month for the lower max. file download storage. This is a USB style port that plugs into your computer. AT&T makes USB type devices too (I've noticed the commercials

I would call or go to the ATT website for info on the pricing. It is not going to be cheap though if you download a lot of stuff. I personally have no use for a notebook - I have a laptop and I can't see why someone would want to stare at such a small screen. However if you want one just avoid HP and Gateway if they have them - I have never had good luck with those computers - I personally would look at Dell first.
